My chocolate peppermint is ready to harvest for drying to make tea and for using fresh to make infused honey, so may do that when the sun isn't so hot. I love herb harvest time, need to turn the roses into more wine as well, last lot we made has run out. Hope the sun is shining on everyone

Wow, you make great use of your lavender! I adore the smell of it but I've never tried to cook with it. Unfortunately since we've moved we have no lavender in the garden. I'm going to treat myself to some plants soon and then I'll be pestering you for recipes
No NSD to report today, I popped in to town to get a couple of bits to go with my nephew's birthday present and ended up spending a bit more than I should have on other things! If I was organised I could have done the food shop too but I had no list and LO was grumpy so we had a run around on the grass instead. Unfortunately that means I still have the delight of food shopping to do

Nope, will add that to my list of things to try, I have made lavender chocolate truffles though, they are VERY yummy, did a demonstration for a herb group for Valentine's Day and they wolfed them down. You can use fresh or dried lavender so if anybody wants the recipe let me know and I'll post it. I made the same recipe recently but used white chocolate and lemon verbena and they were yum yum as well :EasterBunWow, you make great use of your lavender! Honey, if you're going to cook with it make sure you get Hidcote or Munstead, both are great for cooking, Hidcote has a lovely purple tinge that transfers to liquids if you use white vinegar or make you own lemonade it will go a lovely shade of purple. If you have other lavender plants it's best to use the ones that don't smell 'piney' the Spanish Lavender (Lavandula Stoechas) that also gets called Butterfly and French Lavender is not suitable for cooking and the pretty lace leaved lavender (Lavandula dentata) is also not suitable for cooking. Stick with Munstead and Hidcote and you can't go wrong. I have a Lavender cookbook and make loads of things out of it, lavender jelly glazed pork chops lavender are yummy, lavender is my first favourite herb, sorry it's the herbaholic in me I can't resist

Unfortunately not a NSD for me today , hubby had an emergency ultra sound appointment at hospital this evening so £2.50 later for car parking and then a cheapy chip shop tea, also after stripping the beds discovered I'd ran out of washing powder  so a quick trip to Asda to buy Daz £2 (27 washes). Fingers crossed for tomorrow.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

Reporting NSD number 15 for me Mistress Spoon
We did pop out to dump an old freezer at the tip (just got it from freecycle but wiring started smoking when we switched it on so definitely not using that!) and dropped some eBay parcels at sorting office but I print & pay for postage through eBay/PayPal. Anyway, no spending incurred.Mr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Declaring today as NSD #13 - but it was a very close call........
They had more of the bread I got yesterday in clearance this morning, but after 2nd reductions (the last I'd see before leaving, as I finish at 4pm on a Tuesday) it was still 50p - and I only paid 25p yesterday. By the time I actually left it had all gone, but they still had one of a 'crunchy' version left. However, at 50p I decided I still wasn't going to take it.
Biggest problem was the doughnuts though..... I flagged up to management as I left last night that we had no packaging for today, and nothing had been done about it. In the end a manager (on a later shift) picked some up from another store on his way in, so it didn't arrive until 11:30am and we normally have them on sale by 8am. This meant they weren't there for the school-kids (secondary school) on their way in, so there were still looooaaaaads left when I came home.... and I knew this meant there'd be loads in reduction (almost certainly down to 19p/pack instead of 69p). But I managed to keep myself busy doing jobs until the store closed, so I retained my NSDCheryl0 -
