Feel for you regarding your gran. My mum is also a heavy smoker and I know what you mean about the smell seeping into your clothes. Its not easy looking after the fossils.

True Lucielle- the thing is that my gran always used to be a very smart woman. I hate seeing her like this, and the flat never smelled and nor did we after a visit. It is hard to get my head around at times, and she has lost visitors i am sure because of the smell.:oBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

My mum is the same and we have real battles trying to get her in the shower. I help her whilst she's in but she is very unsteady and I worry she might land on top of me.

Gran is about 4'7" so not to bad in that respect. It is the smoking aspect really - her flat has that funny smell:o I say to everyone that she hasn't many pleasures left and it is up to her. Will pop in tomorrow and see what's what again.:o I am determined to clean her coats and whatnot-did a quick flick around the kitchen today as well. I try and do things without offending her sensibilities as she is very sharp in a lot of ways.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

That made me laugh- mine has a water line as well-Woe betide anyone who gets past the pencil eye brows:eek::rotfl:
Yes dates are a looming and so is my calendar which looks mighty full- so i will ring you and we can sort out. I am a tad skint too-given we are not sure about DD and Uni yet given the student loans thing:o So spare monies are set aside and earmarked as going to various things for her.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Had an up and down few days this week.
Have had t'internet problems and kept losing connection:o
I am holding onto dosh so tight it squeaks at the moment. Have to make payments to mortgage and whatnot in the next few days, but won't be making overpayments this month.
Students who i have been working with this term have all achieved their predicted GCSE grades:D:j Some have been taking entry level AQA subjects and most achieved a level 3- which considering they have been out of school for so long, is a massive achievement for them. So i am pleased that they will be able to move on to college and hoping it will be the start of a new life for them.
Received the mortgage statement this week and i am pleased that £3000 has come off the capital owing, i didn't realise how much i had paid- so that has helped resolutions a bit.
Car is so close as well- this is now down to the £1200 mark- if i hadn't got DD2 going to Uni, then i would go all out to get this paid over the next two months, but i have to prioritize.
Have been baking, due to being bored with no internet access. OOps not good for the waist line.:rotfl:
But have made some healthy soups:D
Not shredded either- so back on the regime tomorrow. Measurements still stayed the same though- so not all bad.
That's about it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

All sounding very good and you should be proud of all your achievements...both getting the pupils through their exams and everything in your personal life.0

Thanks Taxi- i am less stressed on the other side of it all now. It is good to look back and see it all.
Onwards and upwards now- Turnips ahoy:DBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
