I get this when I try and order the A60 with £20 airtime and a sim:
Sorry, it looks like we're having some trouble processing your order online.
The good news is that we can still make sure you get the same great offer by phone!
Just give our team a call on 0845 6000 637.
Anyone else getting this?
The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing:)0 -
I've not heard of the £30 rule.... I'm assuming that after having spent £30 on airtime, they are obliged to unlock it for you? Is this law or an offer or what? Is it just virgin or all operators?
I'de be very grateful for any info on it, how you go about it etc...
thanks,
ZedAll of this might just be an elaborate simulation running inside a little device, sitting on someone's table.0 -
Zed,
I hadn't heard of the "£30 rule" either, until martint123 mentioned it.
I e-mailed Virgin Mobile, and have copied their response below...
PeteM
Hi Pete,
Thanks for your email to Virgin Mobile.
If you'd like to use a SIM card from another service provider in your Virgin Mobile phone, you'll need to have your phone unlocked first.
We can do this for you, absolutely free of charge, if you've spent or topped-up with £30 or more in airtime since you've bought your phone. Or, if you've made your first call before the 1st August 2001.
To get the ball rolling, just send us an email and let us know the following info:
* The name and address of the registered owner of the phone
* The make and model of your phone.
* Your Virgin Mobile phone number.
* Your phone's IMEI number - that's the number that appears when you type *#06# into your phone.
* Where did you buy the mobile phone.
* And finally, another number that we can reach you on.
When we have these details we'll be able to send your unlock code to you within 7 days. In some cases we may need to contact the manufacturer of your phone to get hold of your unlock code. If this happens you'll receive it within 30 days.0 -
Phone arrived last night at 6:30pm. Not a brilliant phone but ok for the kids or those that only use ocassionally. Have to try the virgin glue number now to see if they'll play ball.
Just a petty thought, but this is worth getting even if you only want to trade in against a new phone ie: keep your decent phone when upgrading. The Link and CPW offer between £10 and £20 for PAYG and contract respectively and you get to keep and use the £25 airtime.0 -
Thanks just got one. I need a spare phone knocking around and used to love my A50!
I always use Virgin when I go abroad as their rates are often cheaper!
Looking at Glue isn't there a money making scheme. Recommend a friend to join everytime you need £!) credit then you'll get £10 and a free SIM!0 -
Yes, there is a scheme, I posted it a few times before. You can get upto £80 in referals. Then you have to start on a new sim card.0

Thanks for the post. I ordered mine last night at 7.40pm and it was delivered this morning at 8.50am. Impressive service.Once I've saved it I spend it !!0

I ordered mine on Wednesday, It arrived on Thursday morning. I wasn't bothered about an all singing, all dancing phone so this one suits me fine. Where else could you get a colour screen phone for £2.00. My husband decided that he would have one too so that we were on the same network and with the glue thingy I thought it was a good deal.
When I phoned they told me that I couldn't use glue on another phone as it was already a special offer, and glue could not be used in conjunction with a phone already on special offer. We got the Samsung X450 for £53.99 plus the £25.00 credit, so still a good deal.
Virgin tariff is far cheaper than our O2 and vodafone that we have at the moment, so were happy!! Thanks again for the op.
I'm now going to sell our old phones on ebay and I'll probably make back what i've spent. Don't you just love this site.

Just been refused the GLUE thing by Virgin for the same reasons as Fernlea. Yet when I was ordering the lady said no problem, could even sort it out at a later date.
I can't be bothered challenging it as it was such a good deal anyway, it just annoys me to be told incorrect information.0
