Poppped into the co-op where they had quiches reduced to £1 each- but £3 discount coming off when you bought two. Added in some bbq meat reducedin a 2 for £5 offer. Great. Thanks to the op- I have done this at Saisburys in the past but mostly now it doesn't work there.

    Hi
Tesco use a handheld scanner type for their reductions.I have yet to buy a
BOGOF in the reduced area, but believe what ever the reduced price shown is,you would get the same amount discounted again at the end of your receipt.
    :money:

Don't think you do any more. I believe that once Tescos/Asda put the yellow sticker on it voids any other offer that is on.

It seems the only ones that do this any more is the Sainsburys/Co-op/Somerfield.

I know it works in Somerfield as bought two loaves of bread a couple of weeks ago and unknown to me on multi-save offer and reduced and I got a extra taken off and only paid about 37p for the two loaves. But if it is reduced but a bogof you only get the price you paid off and not the whole amount.

  • It works better on BOGOFs at Co-op because it takes the price off at the end, where as if it is 2 for £3, it takes the difference off. Found a big stash of reduced stuff at the back of the freezer just now that has obviously been put away for some member of staff!
  • Went in today and the woman on the till would only scan one of my BOGOF items, and that said that if she put another one through then i would get it for free! grr! Thats the point!

Yes, I noticed it doesn't always work in Sainsburys, but I was over the moon to have an offer which *did* work on Saturday - chicken breast fillets, one pack £5.99 buy two and get £5 off. There were lots of them on the reduced counter so I bought two packs and they still took the £5 off at till :j :j

Maybe I was lucky in that the girl had only just marked them up

In my experience, Sainsbury's "Save £x.xx" offers always work in full; Sainsbury's "BOGOF" offers work at the reduced price.

I think that is because they have to abide by the wording on the pack, so if it says save £1 when you buy two, they have to do it, whereas buy 2 for £5 allows it to be overridden.
  • yep i always do this in my co-op too.
just after 10am in the morning is the best time to go to mine, the fridge is always full and theres always several items with these offers on.....as someone else said the barbecue things have been a fab one this year and my freezer is full!!!!
  • I found this thread and was keen to see if it would work.

On Monday I went to my local co-op and they had "gingsters cornish pasties" reduced to 10p (shelf said buy one get one free) and some other bits and pieces reduced. i worked out that i hadnt quite covered the cost of the BOGOF so picked up a cheap bottle of wine (£2.99, not tried it yet!) to cover the cost but no BOGOF discount.. :rolleyes2

    just my luck!! :o
