Thanks to everyone that replied about my overflow got someone coming to look at it as you cant get out of the back door when it is going as it is just to the side above the door and you would get burnt thankfully it has finally stopped but dont want it to go again when one of the little ones are walking into the garden so going to see what can be done.

As I found out with DS1 there comes a time when you have to accept that the offspring is having a toxic effect on your life and the lives of the other people in your home, namely DD2.

As someone who has had to allow her oldest child to walk away and face the consequences of his own actions and deal with his own issues and inadequacies I know first hand how hard it is. There is only so much of yourself you can sacrifice and only so much you can give before you start becoming a victim of their destruction.

Let her go. Let her dad deal with some of her behaviour.. he may not be doing her any favours but one or both of them will wise up pretty quickly and they have to live with this, not you. You have given her the best start, the best opportunities and she has thrown them back in your face. letting her go is probably the hardest thing you have had to do because you know it won't be pretty but she has to learn for herself and from her own mistakes. Some people are just like that.. usually the more intelligent (supposedly) the worse they are..

You will miss her, and then you won't, and you'll feel bad because you think you should.. you have your own sanity and DD2's safety to consider.

    it gets easier.. promise you!!

As for her dad.. karma is a rough cosmic justice meted out at inopportune moments.. he will get his sooner or later.. smile and wait for it to hit.

I couldn't agree more jojo my thoughts are with you I know it is hard at the moment but you do need to think of yourself as well.

You spend years doing your best for them and for some of them it's just not enough no matter what, It is hard to let go but I will say it is also sometimes worth it for your own health and well being and i have to agree with pigpen it does get easier hun.

    Thanks, Piggers...

She can forget about sloping round here when she wants some money now...I shall be permanently broke from now on where she is concerned.

But I did forward on proof from her college to her stepmother that the ungrateful moo did not bother with her AS levels (boyfriend doesn't have lessons on Fridays - the deadline for the coursework) and gave her the password for the college attendance records, which show the wretched girl's attendance to be abysmal.

So - their first foray into parenting her will be finding out that 'dada's bubba' has taken the bus fare and their presents 'for doing all your exams' (well now you know different, don't you?) smiling off into the distance "for college", then turns around at the end of the road and goes straight to her boyfriend's house instead.

I hope they enjoy it. Because I certainly didn't.

Just be there to offer a supportive word or helpful bit of advice WHEN SHE ASKS.. don't volunteer anything else... as hard as that is.. ;)

that said DS1 has had my advice rammed in every orifive regarding Jacob.. they are just silly with him in many respects!

    Morning All,

Thank you very much as usual for the motivational thread Toots, Soapie and Pigpen.:T

Sorry not posted again for a while, think I am going to just have to post when I can. I am never in, so you'd think the house would be clean, but its the complete opposite. I think its because its a case of running in to the house dumping stuff we've just used, picking up stuff for the next task etc and back out again, and my house is in dire need of a could Level 1, 2 & 3 for about a fortnight to get back up to a habitable state:rotfl:. Hope everyone is well will try and catch up with this weeks posts today, luv Kalojac x

    morning all!

up early as didn't do any washing yesterday on account of the rain...only to find out at 10.30pm that DS had another shift today and had no clean uniform:rotfl:.

L-L - good to see you posting - you are in my thoughts as always - as are the other poorlies.

Did tons of ironing yesterday - gave my steam generator a good workout and can happily report that it is up to the job:T:T. I will reach the bottom of the pile!

Hugs to Jo-jo - not a good situation but Piggers and others are correct - there is only so much you can do and sometimes you have to draw the line and stand back. Let her dad deal with it - see how he likes it!

Managed to make some bread rolls and bake some cookies yesterday as well as spending some time gardening before the rain. Not sure how much I will get done today as it is toddler group and I help with the teas and coffees. Still something is def better than nothing! This thread is making me get up and make a start! Thanks guys!:T

    Morning all

It's going to be a busy one here. I'm taking DS1 to college this morning (some kind of assessment for the course he is starting in September) and then I will probably pop into town with DS2 for a haircut and to have his shoes checked.
Hoping to fly this afternoon, as we should be back by lunchtime. The weather forecast looks promising from today, so playhouse and planting could be on the cards.

LadyLib - nice to hear from you and best wishes for Friday.
Have a good day, everyone. x

    Morning ladies

Beautiful and sunny here today so really want to spend it in the garden but still have rooms in the house looking like a bear pit.

Might just go and change the bedding before DH gets into it after night shift.

At the moment he is peeling and boiling potatoes so that I can fry them for a tatarey treat for breakfast :D

Did most of the finances last night, just the cash receipts to do then thats another thing off the list.

    Thats it for now
