I've got one and it's fantastic - i recommend it highly.

The D50 is a good camera but the Canon gets better write ups in the magazines - It is PC Pro magazines top budget SLR with the D50 as runner up.

I'd go the D50 personally but head over to https://www.dpreview.com and check the reviews there.

Depends on what you want it for.

In the music photography scene everyone has canon - in the general press scene everyone has nikon.. it's up to you.

Personally I have an Olympus E500.. so I'm different again.
  • 350D is a wicked camera, but so is the nikon. you won't regret buying either

  • If your at an Airport Dixons Duty free had some good prices a few weeks back. I looked at a couple of different ones - you have got to try them. I found the Canon was uncomfortable to hold. It was better suited to smaller hands than mine I think.

I decided I would treat myself to one when I become mortgage free (a long time away) or when my Pentax Optio packs up.
I am NOT a Woman! - its Overland Landy (as in A Landrover that travels Overland)

Better to be approximately right than precisely wrong.
