Actually i strongly feel this company are letting their standards slip. I have bought from them for quite some time but my last order was awful. I ordered quite a few things and the boxes were bashed (candles), some crystal hanging things were chipped. It really did look like mega old stock that had been lying in their store for years. Naturally i complained and they send replacements but was shocked to see the same crystal hanging ornaments chipped again, so i just left it at that.
Won't be ordering again as it's really a hit or miss with this Companysadly....
After I complained about my trying to order candles I wanted (they said in stock but low availability every time) I then got a £15 discount voucher to recompensate me for the candles I *did* want.
I think really the best policy is just complain if badly packaged ESPECIALLY if delicate items are smashed. If they're gifts or jhust for yourself they certainly shouldn't be sent out broken even if very old stock. Nor should they be badly packaged to allow for breakages.
On the website now - it's good - yesterday when very popular candles were very low stock they had a message saying 'sorry but hope to have back in stock soon' - sadly they weren't in back in stock today but kudos to BD - they'd taken the out of stock candles off their webpage rather than the situation earlier this summer when I ordered before, whereby they left them on there but saying low availability which obviously was a lie etc.
So I *do* think they're upping their game. I do think a few of their items I would not pay full price for. A comment about the fragrance of the Alphabet candles would be useful, just email them... the staff seemed really nice - all they have to do is put this fragrance wording next to the candles!
But I am very much a person now who if I'm not satisfied, well I complain - ok it took phone calls and emails until I was satisfied but so many British people mumble and grumble and don't complain. I'm sure that BD as a legit company want to make a profit and not lose customers etc so why not comment/say if you're not happy?
sorry for the long post....0 -
Im afraid Im with leona.
Had a terrible experience with packing of items from BD, resulting in a large platter smashed when it arrived. I complained and simply got a replacement sent out (but to billing not delivery address so not ideal). I am also a cynic and wonder what Misha's relationship is with BD as they have also started another thread about the sale deals, even though they clearly know there is an existing thread which they have written on.
Either way, I didn't rate most of their stuff, they had every opportunity to offer more than a replacement, I even emailed when they delivered to the incorrect address. Im afraid I can't see the evidence for BD wanting your custom and not wanting to lose customers. Response to both emails was very much "what is your problem?". Too many choices online for shopping to need to tolerate sub-standard service.:)0
