Lebkuchen? I'll have to look out for those! The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0 -
Someone help the lady out there - does anyone know where the Lidl's stores are in London?Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Hi, I dont really care for Tesco, but I shop mostly at ASDA. We have a new Lidl near to Asda and I would say that there are some bargains, but compared to Asda I find alot of stuff cheaper at Asda than I do in Lidl. I can say this as I do know alot of prices at Asda so I am able to compare. I some times call Lidl a ' Fools Paradise ', as you can get carried away. Compare Lidl's price with Asda's 'Smart Price' range and you will get my drift.Be ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0

Yes, I agree that Asda's great too, but I don't think the OP has one near her (as I don't), which is why she asked for the comparison.Debt at highest: £6,290.72 (14.2.1999)

Lidl can be good, although the prices have crept up over the past couple of years.
They have really good continental cooked meats, yoghurts are cheap as are their (limited selection in my store) tins. Some of their weekly promotional non-food type things are great too. We used to get their nappies too, they were brilliant. They do some lovely biscuits.mmmmA minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
