Unless theyve changed recently, xbox 360s arent wireless. PS3s do have wireless built in

Honestly, it isn't. The online experience of the PS3 is absolutely dire compared to the Xbox 360 and most games are online multiplayer. I have both. I pay for three XBox Live subscriptions and the PS3 spends most of its time now as a Blu-Ray player.

no its not,the 360 has a seperate add on for wifi (unless you are referring ot the controllers)
trhough it does allow users to go for wireless N or G
    vs the PS3 G
though the PS3 has gigabit for those using a wired connection

to the OP,you have asked about all 3 consoles but only mention wifi
what are you(or your family?) looking for/planning to use them for?

Only interested in ps3 or xbox , it will occasionally be used in a bedroom away from router so hence my need for wifi !! Dont really want another 30foot cable to hide around the house. so thanks for the postings still unsure about which to buy though !!!!!!!!!

    OK...these are completely objective:

Games: 360 wins. Whilst most will play identically, the 360 does anti-alias more games than the PS3. Some levels on COD4 (The Bog) were nearly unplayable on the PS3 online. Half-Life 2 took longer to load on PS3.

Cost of games: 360 wins. 360 versions are either the same or £5-£10 lower. There are far more available second hand.

Range of titles: 360 wins. PS3 has lost nearly all the exclusives and some old exclusives have been ported to 360.

User Interface: 360 wins. Far easier to use and navigate, especially the online store. Also if you have a Windows Vista/Win7 computer, the 360 can use the full Media Player front end, including accessing any TV tuners on the computer whereas the PS3 can only show shares of music, videos and photos.

HD Media support (upscale DVD/playback Bluray): PS3 wins. 360 will upscale DVD but only with a HDMI connection and it has no Blu-Ray drive nor any plans for one.

    Storage: Tie

Controllers: PS3 wins simply because the controller is charged via USB ports whereas the 360 needs a Plug'n'play charger to be bought seperately.

Networking: PS3 wins because it has built in wifi

Online experience: XBL beats PSN by a country mile. There are rumours of a pay for version of PSN in the pipeline.

Cost: 360 wins for at least the first 12 months of ownership even though XBL is subscription.

Just to add, in terms of hifi quality the PS3 wins. It has an awesome upscaler for dvds etc beating dvd/bluray players worth a lot more money. Is 'deep colour' capable (Although very very few things actually use this at the moment). Handles hidef sound as well as video. Sound quality rivals some hifi cd players etc etc
Sure the 360 wins on games, but the PS3 wins on quality

It was also thought that the PS3 couldnt handle 360 games due to them always performing more inferior. This tide is slowly changing. Ive heard many reports of games now running better on PS3. The days of poor ports due to sloppy programming is coming to an end
