If you don't mind me asking, did you go over the limit in the same way (PPI fee pushing you over)?

    interest charged on account
no overlimit fee and less than 24hours between it goin over and being put right.
i also think i was charged interest before i should have been but i havent really bothered to look
at £200 i cant say i'm that fussed limit wise as its a pants limit that i can spend easily in a day. its the "small things card"

Thanks for replying. That's useful to know.

I'm using the card for credit building, using it monthly for petrol, take-aways etc. A higher limit would be useful as my petrol bill per month is over £300 and I'd ideally like to put all of it onto the card and then clear the balance each month.

Never mind, looks like I've shot myself in the foot anyway. :(

Following the examples set on this very forum, I'm looking to apply for a more "mainstream" card in less than a year or so. Hopefully that'll have a higher limit on that.

my first card was Vanquis last april starting at £250 now at £1500 then jan this year got Aqua and Cap1 both resonably low limts £300 and £200 retrospectiveatly. then end of march got accepted for a Sygma silver with £1000 and 6months 0% BT.

Oh and have just got my self a new laptop thanks to Santander from Comet as part of their Credit options with a £750 limit

Things are on the up for me i guess. Especially with a low income

Having those cards, and paying laughable interest rates(looking at sig) is 'looking up'?
That coupled with the self confessed low income is a recipe for disaster.

the only disaster is that i get offered advice by the likes of you.

I'm more than happy at paying the interest rates as and when i even pay interest.

i know what i'm doing and ask for no more pathetic responses like that in future.

I got denied a rise in my limit because I had to report my card as being potentially compromised (not my fault) and due to this they decided not to up my limit  However being ex-staff I knew what to say and was generally very awkward and they sorted it and put my limit up. It seems they will use any excuse not to give you an increase

This is my 2nd statement since getting the card. I paid off my full balance of £299.37 in month 1 and have just paid off the full balance again of £300.60 for this statement (dated 28/05), which includes the 60p over limit.

What tipped me over the £300 balance this month was the PPI of £2.36
Could I ask why, which such low monthly balances usually paid in full, you feel that PPI is even necessary?

If you couldn't pay your bill for, say, 4 months, how much would the PPI pay out (in total/each month)?
