No one mentioning POT holes all over the roads resulting in constant tyre relplacements

That comes down the luck and observation I think.

Due to having a small Kitcar, I watch out for potholes as much as biker would..... I rarely hit any potholes, but you will as a result see me weaving in between them. Most car drivers seem to blindly plough straight on into them, especially pillocks in 4x4's who somehow think they're magically resistant to potholes :rotfl:

I've hit maybe a handfull in the last 10 years or more.

Well you do have to find a use for all that heavy engineering in a 4x4 suspension that you spend a fortune in fuel lugging around......:rotfl:;)

That "heavy" suspension/drivetrain setup seemed to manage rather well back in January/February this year, and I didn't notice the people who normally bash 4x4 owners being so quick to open their mouths when they were being dragged out of a ditch or wherever else they had been daft enough to end up because their recycled soup can simply wasn't capable:rotfl:

Until you stopped on anything even resembling an incline and then tried to pull away again ;)

Well if people would fit the correct winter tyre's to their car (on a spare set of wheels) they'd find the extra grip out performs ANY 4x4 that's sitting on all season tyre's.
I'd rather spend £50 a corner on winter tyre's than spend the extra on fuel, tax and depreciation.

That said im getting sick of my car getting hit by shopping trolley's and car doors, that im considering an old Landy Defender in hand painted hammerite black as a "I dont care if you hit my car anymore" urban tank.

Extra grip or not, that fwd soup can that barely weighs a ton is not getting grip on tarmac that has seen the snow compacted for a couple of days.

What I have found that seems to work is a 3" suspension lift, accompanied by a 2" body lift, and the fitting of 33" tyres. Once people realise their head height doesn't go above your tyres, they tend to give you a wide berth :D
