Was your PC actually on at the time?
What security are you running on the PC.
There may be a few things that you could run, such as hijack this - and antimalwarebytes . Don't have the official URL's to hand but I'm sure one of the other regular posters on here will haveDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

Is there a folder "Unused Desktop Items" or similar. If yes, have a look inside. There is a thing called "Desktop Cleanup Wizard" in Windows which moves items in this folder when they haven't been used for a long time.
Maybe your missing items are just outside the visible area. Go to Start -> Run and type in "%USERPROFILE%\Desktop" without the quotes and press Enter. Are your files there?my password folder i store on my desktop went missing last week very strange as its always there locked on task bar
What do you mean with "password folder"? Do you save passwords in clear text in it? Very bad idea. You should use a program like KeePass to store your passwords encrypted.0 -
