Well, I am delcaring at €408 for June - €8 over. I went to F&V shop yesterday and spent €20. But then I also went to Lidl and got what we needed for the week, as well as extra cheese (that we use lots of and love Lidl's) and wine (they have some very nice bottles for about the €5 mark - so we bought six to keep us going to the next trip). I think I can allow that one.
I am going to aim for €800 for July, as I intend doing a stores run up north, and having a BBQ for neighbours (which will need meat and booze purchases). But I am also using lots more from the plot - salads, spuds, cabbage, peas, broad beans, and radishes are all coming good now. And I have a load of summer berries to use also (have a double batch of redcurrant jelly in the pot ready to cook) which also means I need more sugar than normal.
Can you please put me down for €800 for July please Mrs M?GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

You certainly have been busy - it doesn't seem 5 mins since your last little girl was born and now you have a little boy, congrats.
Hope you manage to have a meal out - you certainly deserve a few hours rest:rotfl:
I'm going to declare at £143 .08 - which has amazed me, but I bought so much near the beginning of the month that I have really full cupboards still. The garden has now started to give up it's bounty so I don't need to buy so much fruit and veg for a while. Harvested our first carrots today.
Will see everyone over on the July thread.0 -
:j My first month and I am soooo motivated, thrilled and very happy.. My challenge was £400 for June after nearly £500 usually every month.
THANKYOU to all for posting, tips and support,,even reading that others are doing the same thing really helps keep me on track.
Hubby is amazed we saved money this month!! 3 days to go and I have £8 left,,cupboards are pretty full (thanks to my first approved foods order)only need milk and bread rest of this month.
I know not all months will be easy but am certainly going to try to keep making changes etc

Hya Mrs M...blown the budget this month, but I now have enough bread flour for 6 months or so!! (courtesy of Claybrooke Mill).
Put me down for £400 for July. We are away for nearly two weeks, but will be buying food while we are away...also DS1 will be here for one of the weeks we are off...so need to re-stock the freezer.
I am hoping to spend much less July...we'll see how it goes!
Enjoy the rest of Sunday...footie permitting! I am listening ot the cricket...much better!! :rotfl:

the tinned tomatoes have gone up since monday!! the mr normal chopped ones were 37p on monday, now 57p! (on three for a pound though), so the OP who mentioned tomatoes and tinned products going up got me a few tins at a good price.
Looked out of interest at the coconut milk tins, now £2! - were a pound about a year ago.. have been buying the 2 for a £1 in the pound shop or co-op do one i think for 59p.

Please can you put me down for £50.00 for July.
My dad is going to pick up a few things for me when he goes shopping (hopefully tomorrow) so i'll see what that adds up to when he brings it over.
I can't pop to the shop for anything as will still be on crutches 'til the end of July and I can't drive, so it should be a cheap month!! I will be working from my freezer contents and what I have in the cupboard for meals so should only need fruit and milk (although I have emergency milk if needed!)Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100
