Last day of this months G/C for me was 22nd and have now totalled everything up.

Can I declare JUNE G/C £233.01 which is £41.99 less than the budget set of £275 :j Even though its not as good as last month I am still more than happy and I did reduce it by £25 as well so am giving myself a small pat on the back :) The £41.99 saved will be going into the bank for savings as luckily apart from normal bills we don’t owe anything to anyone - although things are getting harder as I think we can all testify to.

Have decided to reduce the budget again FOR July although not by very much so can I attempt to try for JULY G/C £265 (23/6 - 20/7) and fingers crossed I can do it. I must admit to feeling a little  - if I think about it for to long. I aim to work down (slowly) towards £250 and once there - if I get there - then will think about going even less…..oh well we can all dream cant we and one never knows :rotfl:
I do have lots in but I think its ingrained on my brain to still buy more. However I will try to curb this and use more out of the freezers and cupboards.

Thank you to everyone for their input in this challenge, it really does help to read how other people try to cut down and to swap ideas etc.
Good luck to those who are still on the June challenge and hope every one does well for July. :T
    MARCH £62.38/250

  • Good morning everyone,

Have just eaten a huge cooked breakfast/lunch and possible dinner as I feel so stuffed I cannot imagine being in need of food again today. Anyway it was to use up lots of bits and pieces so I am justifying my gluttony;).

Sunnyday: would one of those large trays used for holding compost for potting plants do to stand your freezer on. You know the ones you sit on a shelf in your potting shed. (Not that I have a potting shed) I think they have quite a high lip around them. You could perhaps have a look in some gardening catalogues or websites to see what's on offer.

Hope everyone has a frugal day.

Hi everyone, not posted for a while but nothing exiting to report anyway:)

Currently hovering just under my target and my challenge finishes tomorrw so really pleased. Had 2 x Approved Foods deliveries this month but have cupboards full of stuff to use now. Also we have harvested our first potatoes of the year this morning so will have to think of something nice to have for tea using them. Our broad beans are also producing quite a lot but the raspberries are the biggest I have ever seen. Will have to make meringues so we can have them with the rasps and cream.:D

Going to update my sig now but Mrs M - Please could you put me down for £150 again for July.

My last spend of the month will be tomorrow then I can declare total. Unfortunately I only have about £5 left in the kitty. That means I will be massively overspent
The food is essential as it is my son's birthday party and we are having all the family over. I totally forgot to budget for it when organising my spending over the last few weeks :o

I'll wait until the damage is done to post my final total.

Best of luck to everyone else, K

yopu can get huge trays for f/fs - catering companies sometimes use them. not that that's h elpful where to get them - but they do exist. A womble around the web may be required.....`
