Less than a week to go! So nearly there! More spends:-
Organic box delivery £11.95 but now have a pointed cabbage, nectarines, tomatoes, carrots, bananas, courgettes, oranges and new potatoes.
AF delivery - £14.89 - 4 pkts all bran (can make all bran fruit loaf again) case of pizza swirls mix, case of garlic and coriander naan bread mix, case of foccacia mix and a case of choc flapjack mix, also various sauces and gravy mixes and herb teas.
So total is now £130.03 leaving me with nearly £20 left to spend!
Tonight we will be having sausages (from m+s deal) with mash and steamed veg (from the depths of the freezer! Yogurt eton mess for pud.Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
Jan grocery challenge £35.77/£1200 -
I sympathise with everyone who is trying to keep to a budget this month as I am really struggling to keep below my challenge ! I've just got back from Snozberry's and the bill came to £77.86_pale_
(and there are still 6 days until Declaration Day!)
The totals so far are £82 Weightraise (how the poshies say it!)
£89 Mr M and £15 Mr T and approx £15 for various establishments for bits and bobs! which equals a grand sum of £278.86
This has set me thinking that I have to sort out a budgeting strategy that works for me - menu planning doesn't work and I think that £280 is a generous amount to work with for 3 adults 1 dog and 4 chickens!
I'm going to try and work to keep the budget down in the £260-£280 range over the next few months and not keep feeling down if I don't achieve it -after all any savings made nowadays are a great bonus!
I will just start each new month with a renewed enthusiasm to be as MSE as possible:cool:
So everybody should be smiling now :Twell done on any savings you make! :AMay you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:0 -

I know exactly how you feel, i`ve had a bad run too, BUT as others have said before just imagine how much you would have spent if you hadn`t been doing the challenge!
Loads more i would imagine, the stoopid supermarket price yo-yoing dosen`t help either.
I remember a couple of years ago i could feed the two of us and two big dogs and a cat for £25 ish per week and i`ve not got a hope in hell of doing that now. Just do the best that you can - there`s always another month to start afresh and the good thing is that you are saving some money at least.
Chin up Sal!

Well done!! I remember once I went to Mr T for a box of wine. When I got to the self service scanner I beeped it through and the price came up as 1p. I looked around to see if I was on a hidden camera show or something, but couldn't see anyone looking at me, so rummaged in my bag... discovered that I'd left my purse in the car but fortunately found a stray penny in the bottom of my bag. I REALLY enjoyed that wine!! :TSay what you mean.. mean what you say... without being mean.0
