The instructions / recipe booklets are available on the panny website - free to download for anyone wanting breadmaker recipes.

Mine doesn`t usually last too long but slice it and freeze it if you think it may go stale and just take out how many slices that you need from the freezer - keeps ages :D

    Must dash.

Another small amount to add - I'll round it up to £2. Went to local Chinese supermarket and bought some tofu, garlic, ginger and some ground coriander.
Must make a menu plan as I'd love to keep within my budget this month although it looks tight.
Off to have a read back through this thread for inspiration from you lovely lot

Further to my iron-wrecking incident earlier, my friend has just dropped off my new iron which she picked up for me in TJ Hughes's earlier. I paid her the £50 for it out of the grocery budget. Mrs M can you therefore reduce my budget for the month to £350 please? Thanks! I don't know how well I will do as last month (before I joined the thread)I spent nearly £600:o

  • Hello, I was wondering if I can join you?

My husband and I have had a serious sit-down and worked out our money, and I would really like to keep our grocery bill at a max of £250 each month. We normally around £300-£325, but I'm trying to make better use of leftovers and have dropped to some value products to see what difference it makes.

SO far I have spend £56 in June - that was yesterday in Asda. I've got some meat and fish in the freezer, and had a chicken which I've roasted and stripped off, so hopefully I'll only need to buy fruit and milk throughout the week. Got lots of reduced bread yesterday and froze it - should do us a couple of weeks.

Forgot to add some basic info, oops. I'm Anna, and I'm trying to feed me, my husband (6ft6, rugby player, never stops bloody eating!), and 3yr old and an 8m old baby.

Hope it's OK to join in. :)

NSD for me. I also stripped the rest of the roast chicken down so enough for sandwiches tomorrow and make a stew type dish from the stock of the chicken, carrots, onions, potatoes and some soup pasta - very yummy (and enough for my lunches the rest of the week!

Need to do some baking tomorrow. Fancy trying something different so off for a hunt for a good recipe or two.

    Morning All,

Just a quick update before I get off to work.

We've had another couple of NSDs but yesterday I ran out of cotton wool pads (it feels great saying I ran out following my previous 'addiction' to stock piling things like this!) and needed some paracetamol so £1.67 spent in super**ug. I've updated the sig.

We seem to be ok so far this month and today is the only day this week I can get to MrT so I may pop over later from work but I don't have a list, we seem to have a lot in and OH hasn't mentioned anything that we need so I may try to leave shopping until another day. Although rather than being lazy I could go and check the fridge before I go as it's usually milk, cheese, butter, etc. that I buy on a weekly-ish basis.

Felinefantastic (still love that name) I think you were asking about recipes for the BM. We were stuck for recipes too and found the ones in the manual far too sweet (Mor**y Rich***s) so we use the recipes from the front page of this thread. Granted OH does amend some (he can't resist fiddling with recipes) but we found there are recipes to suit all occasions from basic white to fancy loaves. My favourite is one that requires oats but I can't remember which one it is, sorry. :o

We are still gaining newbies which is fantastic. :T Welcome to you all, stick with the threads and you'll find superb support, ideas and hugs when you need them. :D

Right I need to get myself gone. Keep up the brilliant work everyone. :A

    Take care,

I still haven't logged all my spends at the supermarket for June and need to do this but I know I haven't gone over budget yet as there is still money in the bank!

Last night was my first proper foray into a food shop for a few days and I hit lucky with the yellow labels picking up quite a few salad bits half price or more and a half price pineapple :j I know that if I had gone back later, the items would have been even cheaper but I was happy with my buys at the price I had paid and didn't want to go back and buy more which would only have been wasted.

Im trying to use up what I have in my cupboards and freezer (which is full) so there will not be any home delivery shops this month because I overspend when I do these (does anyone else find this? ) I do need to meal plan as I make the mistake of wandering round the supermarket and being tempted by stuff (that I don't really need) when I already have ample food / the meal planned for that evening. I have considered breaking my budget into a weekly amount, arranging a transfer of said amount into a separate account or drawing it out the bank each week and then paying for everything by cash because I think this will keep me on track better. I also need to sit down and do a meal plan so might start that now ! Have a good day everyone. :D
