what macfly says, this is blatant fee avoidance, to list correctly you would have been given an option when buying which asked you how many chairs you wanted and that would have given you a total at the end to equal 43 chairs at £25.50 each if you get my drift
if the seller had done this though, their fees would have been alot more so now they are trying to get the amount from you directly through paypal ? without doing it properly in conjunction with ebay ?
show all correspondance to ebay and explain that fee avoidance is occuring

I think the pertinent bit from an earlier post is being overlooked. It is no longer possible to do Dutch auctions on ebay, so the auction could not have sold each item individually on the same auction unless it had been a BIN.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/buyer-multiple.html
Multiple Item ('Dutch auction') listings are no longer offered on eBay. We're always looking for ways to simplify the selling and shopping experience on eBay, so based on the low adoption by sellers, we decided to phase it out.
Sellers can still sell multiples of an item through Fixed Price listings, or if they'd rather stick with auction-style format, they can offer single lots with multiple items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi
I was browsing looking for something else (as you do) and came across this blog, and your entry. Scrolling down, I saw olderbutnotwiser's reference (#12) to aegistra, with a url to the site (the url is to a previous version of the site)
I was somewhat bemused, as I run this site (on behalf of it's owners), and I can assure all that aegistra has NEVER put any of its products on an e-bay auction. So the person who put up the listing, if it referred to products available on the aegistra web site, could never have been in a position to supply.
I am intrigued as to how the products in the auction were linked to aegistra. I wonder if anyone can tell me how I can get a sight of this listing? I am suspicious that there might be a scam going on here, as aegistra only sells direct, never through 3rd parties, and NEVER via an auction.
Can any one help?
Thanks
Item #12 was just showing a link to a seller (in this case Aegistra) selling new versions of the Luke Hughes chairs listed in the auction as there were ongoing discussions about how a chair could cost so much (due to the time since this original discussion you can no longer read the ebay listing which is why it doesn't make sense to you).
I would expect that once a company has bought the chairs if they decide they no longer want them they can dispose of then how they wish including via an ebay auction.0 -
Thanks for clearing that up, spottydog. Much appreciated. Perhaps my paranoia got the better of me here!
Yes, you are quite right in that once people have bought the stuff, they can dispose of it how they please when they want to move on.
In fact I spoke to Luke Hughes, and he told me that he has known this to have happened in the past.
