Why not report the listing for fee avoidance it will most likely be pulled so not worries about a non payment strike. The report button is on the listing.

Thats a little extreme its obvious its a mistake by the people listing (they are a new seller) and the OP in missing that line in the listing.

Just explain to them that they listed incorrectly and it wasn't totally clear but your willing to cancel the sale if they wish

I don't believe that they bought each chair for £515!! That's ridiculous!
    That was my first thought.

    How?
I mean they're probably lovely chairs, but it's still some bits of wood and a little fabric at the end of the day.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

"Cabinet table" is just misleading, is it a cabinet or a table?;)

Regarding the listing, I think it is fairly clear, looks like they are new at listing and didn't make it clear enough rather than anything else, its a fairly rookie mistake.

The 'number of items per lot' bit seems to have disappeared from anywhere useful on the listings these days, but don't get me started on that one!

Displaying the quantity of multiple items

If you have more than 10 of the same item to sell, you can choose to show the quantity available as “more than 10”, or show the actual number of items available.

To select whether to show the exact number of items:
    • Go to My eBay.
    • Click the Account tab, and then click the Site Preferences link in the left navigation.
    • Under Selling Preferences, click the Show button next to Sell Your Item form and listings.
    • Click the Edit button next to Show the exact quantity of items in your listing if the quantity exceeds 10.
    • Select either:
      • Display “More than 10 available” in your listing (if applicable)
      • Display the exact quantity in your listing
    • Click the Submit button.
There it is and right convoluted it is to.

Actually, I think this is quite ambiguous, the more I look at it...

Initially, I though it was obvious it was for 1 chair, but having read the advert several times, it does say "Chairs" (plural) in the title, and mentions they have 43 available for sale. On top of that, when there's several for sale, the auction would say "10 or more...", allowing you to buy more than one, but it doesn't.

I'd phone ebay and see what they say (perhaps to avoid a non paying buyer strike if you don't want just the one), but there will be no way that they'll sell you all 43 for that price!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

They quietly did away with dutch auctions a while back, so the only multiples are buy it nows.

I think it's a new seller who is either confused or trying it on. Either way it does leave some room for doubt, so I see where the OP is coming from.

My point wasn't finding it when listing, its finding it when an item is listed, it used to appear in the sales panel. So if you had 100 of an item listed it would show price per item, but you would only be bidding on all the items. Your example shows how to list more than one item when selling on fixed price, I was referring to more than one item per lot, there's a box for each on the sell your item form, they are default set to 1.

Folks, it's only misleading if you just read the title, but who does that? If they had put "chairs" in the title and then "we have one chair for sale" would you expect them to go out and find some more?
It clearly states priced for individual sale. Not ambiguous at all.
