Two days a week plus £200 added together......he would still probably be entitled to some council tax credit anyway.0

Only you can make that decision I'm afraid.0

If you're confident they are committing benefit fraud, report them. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I'm more curious as to how you know exactly how much he's getting 'cash in hand'.
Another friend of a friend rumour? or have you applied for a job there yourself??
My advice is that before doing anything make sure that your sources and facts are accurate."Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich0 -
he's a friend of ours, but friend or no friend i hate benefit cheats.
my husband has been with him when he gets his wages, and he openly admits what he is doing0 -
I would report him, we have a big enough national debt without folk taking what they shouldn't be entitled to.
There will be a section on your local councils website and you can report anonymously.0 -

Why not confront him first? Give him the opportunity to stop what he's doing right away, first?
How do you know he gets council tax benefit? All over the place, from the popular culture to the propaganda system, there is constant pressure to make people feel that they are helpless, that the only role they can have is to ratify decisions and to consume.0 -
Just shop them in.
If they are not committing fraud then no harm done.

Why report only the person being paid cash in hand?
Surely the bigger fraud is the employer, who is likely doing this with more than one person.
Cash in hand work means they are not paying tax or NI on the wages, the staff being paid cash in hand will not be insured if anything goes wrong either as far as I know, as they are not 'legally' working there if not being paid through the books at that time.
If you are 100 percent sure of your facts, I would report the company too.[greenhighlight]but it matters when the most senior politician in the land is happy to use language and examples that are simply not true.

The impact of this is to stigmatise people on benefits,
and we should be deeply worried about that[/redtitle](house of lords debate, talking about Cameron)0
