Went to Asda yesterday and went to fill up with fuel. It would not accept the co-op cashminder visa card. Has any one else had this problem. It worked allright at cashpoint after.

its best just to check the signs of diffrent cards they accept, if it shows the visa debit u should be fine, unless theres something wrong with card itself0

Apparently Asda Petrol do not take the card as the machines do not have the "ability" to check you have the cash before it authorises the card - get my drift. Thats why it doesn't work on some internet shops either. The Cashminder doesn't allow/have any credit giving facilities (as you know you can't go overdrawn).
Or so I have been told!:beer:Donna

On the back of a letter with the co-op visa welcome pack was this message:-
As there are overdraft restrictions on the account this card will only be accepted at retailers who can complete a real time check for funds
Some internet stores and remote or unmanned terminals (such as petrol pay-at pump and parking meters) cannot support this card because their systems are not able to immediatly check if funds are available in your account
Hope this helps x"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

never had a problem when I had one a fair few years ago....worked with tesco as well (was the old "connect" visa/delta card)We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

The cashminder card used to be a Visa Electron, on the card it is now a Visa Debit. I asked Co-Op about this and they said it will take until 2011 for it to show as a standard debit card. At the moment it is technically still an electron in disguise.. lol ..
Doesn't work for Tesco online shopping either..
Or at Kwik Fit.9/70lbs to lose0 -

Most of the new cards will work.....its the cards starting "4508" that have the issues with & until the BIN is updated it'll always be the same...although what the co-op say it'll take till 2011 is total *!**!!!*!***!!! takes a damn site shorter to update the BIN than 7mnths!We all die.
