We recently had some safestyle windows fitted and are very pleased with them. The only problem we had is that we have very large bay windows and wanted one huge piece of glass in the middle section.

The piece for the downstairs was knocked over by a passer by and one pane smashed:mad:

The lads fitted it as it was and ordered another. Because it's an unusual size we thought we'd be waiting ages for it but it arrived and was fitted just 2 days later.

On the whole we are very pleased, even the price was good
  • As with anything I'd def recommend getting a second quote, Just look in your local paper or Yell.com

I'm sure you'll find a small business happy to give you a quote

we have had safestyle come round (last week) and we decided to cancel the contract because we wanted to get different quotes and this morning we had another quote from safestyle for £500 less so might be worth you doing
Also the salesman said if you cancel you will lose the £80 survey fee which was a lie because you dont
  • I had safe style to install all my windows and doors and I have had problems with them, the doors were not alligned properly, and the window blew open everytime we had a bit of wind blowing, and still do, although I have had them out to them without the problem pursists so it means another phone call, also they deal with GE Money as finance and they keep increasing their interest rates even though we are at a low rate credit crunch. my advice is think twice and get second quotes elsewhere

We are happy with ours. Found we could get windows quite a bit cheaper, but you could tell where they had saved the money. The Safestyle window locks were one of the best we saw. Had one or two issues, but no problems with after sales service even a few years after installation.

Safestyle are the worst window company I have ever had, in fact they are worse than the worst. I had my window, back door and patio doors fitted in 2003. it took them at least 10 visits to correct the installation, since then they have come back to try and rectify a draught warped back door (several visits), the patio door frame was installed at an angle so doors wouldnt slide or lock properly (several visits) last time they came back for this problem they had to take the frame out as it was at least 2cm out of kilter, lock also broke on it, Window leaked, well i could go on for hours, and to top it all today they were supposed to come and sort the door out, so took another afternoon off work, and guess what, yet again they didnt turn up (one of many times). I spoke to an advisor at their call centre who said it had been booked in for a different day, i complained and asked to speak to a supervisor or manager, was then advised that someone would call me back - and guess what again - no-one has and the office is SHUT. In fact I am now going to seek legal advice as this cant go on any longer. I have had to use up so much of my holiday leave. DONT TOUCH THEM!!!!

My Mum (78) signed a contract with Safestyle on 7 September after they came knocking on the door. I came back from hols at the weekned to discover this. I was worried and did a quick search on the company online. I saw enough horror stories to worry me. We wrote to them immediately, on 14 September, to cancel and surprise surprise - they are refusing to return her £60 deposit, claiming we didn't notify within 7 days. Any reputable company would not try this on and it makes me sure that cancelling was the right decision. BTW my Mum is no pushover and I was shocked at the way she had been persuaded by the Safestyle people.
