Perfectly reasonable statement which applies to current owners. People leave for many reasons, for which we've no control on the Members site nor are we responsible for what they do in their own lives.

No one knows what the maintenance is going to be each year, so I can't answer that one. There was no increase last year, just to help you on that one.

I agree, I think its a reasonable statement, I was asking what your motivation was for getting more members (remembering of course the sales techniques that you object to). Also, wasn't there an extra charge levied this year due to euro fluctuation?

It doesn't matter who started the topic, you're intelligent enough to read the content which you also unfairly contributed too. I'm not here to protect the name of Club La Costa, however, I am here to protect the Members Site for which I'm responsible.

For the record, I never reported anything previously to MSE. However if you use their Forums to mis-represent, and make ill-informed assumptions and statements, then it's either going to be someone on here who is going to be in trouble for it, or MSE themselves. I will of course take their advice.

MSE is a completley "independent" site and as far as I can see Mpython has merely posted information directly from another site, that you choose to remove members for not posting per your rules, does not make for being completely independent in allowing members the opportunity to vent their own opinions.

You are free to report your opinions to MSE, but I really dont think it warrants any removal of this member, he has neither posted anything mis-leading, made up or unfair, he has merely posted some information he has found on another site, whether or not you agree with the post is open for debate, moreso, he has neither broken any rules of MSE by doing so, I am sure MSE will make that perfectly clear to you, where one thread is deleted, another inevitably appears, CLC members may well find themselves kicked off one site for daring to post such rants, which is probably why there are so many posting elsewhere on other sites, so long as they are being honest in their opinions, there is no reason they should be rejected.

As it stands, so long as CLC has so many warnings against their company plastered all over the place AND publicly available to just about anyone, we will endeavor to share such information to the general public, MSE wont stand for false posts, abusive posts or libelous postings.

I really dont think you had the previous thread deleted, regardless of who did, MSE decided it was best deleted (it was becoming more of a hand-bag fight, than rationale debate, so is probably just as well), however as this thread no longer exists, its history and there is no need to speculate about who done what and why, its not relevant to the CLC debate.

Hopefully this thread will stick to the topic of CLC rather than anything else, (including your site), people are free to post their opinions and any links that may support them, no matter which side of the fence they reside.

As I say, I was trying to show the argument often put forward by CLC supporters that the accommodation is always 5* isn't always true.

I've stayed in worse places (when backpacking 30 years ago) but I wouldn't pay the joining & maintenance fees Club la Costa expect for that.

Can you imagine being approached at the free breakfast/ lunch about buying into more points after being put in a room like that?

Where have I said I don't accept that its not a Club la Costa owned resort?

I have asked whether it was booked by a Club la Costa member, through Club la Costa, as a Club la Costa holiday, which you have conviently not answered.

The letter is addressed to Club la Costa and refers to the hotel as "Club la Costa accommodation" - and was published on page 37 of CLC's Directory of Resorts - and paid for with Club la Costa points - do you want me to highlight those bits in the letter for you?

Oh dear, another mention of a lawyer. Who do CLC think they are, do they think they are above UN Law? Spax3? Tommy Wiseau?

If someone makes a swathing comment about CLC but doesn't have any evidence to back it up, then I can understand something being done about it; but as soon as evidence comes forward, then CLC had better start treading carefully - there's a new UN Statute Book that carries the death penalty for everything in it, no second chances, no appeals, no corporate lawyers.

the old music hall joke that sprang to mind was,

"yes, five stars, you can see them all through the holes in the ceiling"

but seeing as someone might alert CLC in order to get the thread closed/ deleted, I'd just like to clarify that was a joke and not meant to reflect on the holiness of any CLC accomodation, I'm sure they are all water tight, like their contracts.
