I've just found this from a link posted in the Grocery Challenge thread :T I have a big pot of Onken black cherry yoghurt bought reduced yesterday so I'm thinking about using that instead of natural and then sandwiching together with some frozen morello cherries. I'll cook the cherries slightly with a bit of sugar to make a bit of sauce. It all sounds a bit black forest gateux ;) What do my fellow OSers think? Yummy or Yucky :D

LIDL do a jar of morellos in juice for 99p. Mix a little cornflour with some of the juice to thicken, then sandwich that with some mascapone in the middle of the cake and a spoonful of cherries on the plate when you serve - yum yum :D
  • I made this yesterday and it is really dry and not very sweet IMO. Neither of the DD's will eat it because they say it isn't moist or sweet enough. I have poured melted chocolate on top and decorated it with cherries but they still won't eat it! What have I done wrong? I made it exactly according to the instructions and cooked it for 50 minutes by which time it was just cooked.

That's not the difficult bit. This is:
To store: wrap in foil; keep 2 to 3 days for full flavour

Ok I have waited 4 days and my cake is ready. As I sliced of the tops of each cake I could taste the difference over the days, also I didn't have a tin big enough so I used two sandwich tins.

Here are some photos that I have taken just before. Oh and I used chocolate buttercream and crushed chocolate pieces to finish it of. I hope it looks ok as I have never decorated a cake before.

Ok can someone help me as I don't know how to download my pictures?
