Why has the thread "finding if a company is real" been pulled?

Options
There was nothing libellous, slanderous and only information accesible from the public domain. Again it seems that MSE is preventing it's members from getting the necessary help from other forum members when they are not getting the goods or service they pay for. Youve done the same here as you did with the littledivaz thread

Will someone please tell martin to remove the words "consumer revenge" from the title of this site.

It is so misleading when in reality all a company or person with a history of ripping people off has to do is ask nicely and he'll delete all warning threads about them from public view.

MSE way to go helping the scammers.

Didn't see it myself, but were people on the thread breaking this rule?

    MSE forum Rules/FAQ
Forum users should not post their or anyone else's personal details (full names, email addresses, home addresses or telephone numbers) on the forum or send them via PM (private message). This includes personal details found on public lookup sites such as Whois.com and Companies House.

Fermi, there was a whois and there was companies house information but why this is not allowed is beyond me considering these are publicly available and I am sure Martin has advcated this before on TV and I cannot see any statute that he would be breaking by us posting these on the site

Then why not remove the post with the details and warn users to be careful instead of deleting a whole thread that users find helpful?

possibly, but thats a silly rule, why shouldn't you be allowed, on a consumer rights board (which is where the thread was) to post the contact details of a scamming business who is ripping people off and going to great lengths to hide their identity?

I think this site is a bit limp wristed when it comes to real consumer rights issues.

I think this site is a bit limp wristed when it comes to real consumer rights issues.

you might aswell ban linking to other news articles about scamming companies too, thats just another form of information which is in the public domain already.

Hell, what are MSE saying? that we can discuss rougue businesses as long as we don't post anything that might expose who they actually are?

Tell me, are you suppossed to be helping the consumer or the scammer with this rule MSE?
