You'll have some issues to consider with that plan:
o2 LLU Home Broadband requires a BT based landline and is ONLY available on c1250 exchanges, and a handful of those are full currently - ie the Standard/Premium/Pro packages.
o2 Home Phone is an optional bolt/on to (any) o2 Home Broadband and that has a price list which shows "putting in a new phone line" (page 40 of their o2 Home Phone Price List) at £85.
So in theory you COULD phone them up and order that - though NOT heard reports of anyone getting a new phone line from them, probably because...
If you phone them to order a line you would MISS OUT any chance of the £back referral website cash of £50-£70-£90 currently for signing to the o2 Home BB LLU package (there are NO reports of ANY offers of ANY sort from anyone re the bolt-on o2 Home Phone package - ie all at list prices on top of home BB sub).
Their number is 0800 380 0402
You'd probably be best off taking BT up on their offer a new line for £30 (ie £90 off) if you take one of their packages for 18months.
- ie £55 cheaper than list o2 price
- and hopefully still £back available for o2 Home BB when you have your line activated and can order o2 Home Phone LLU - that IF (a) it's available on your exchange anyway; (b) there's spare capacity to take you on (not 100% certain!)

Hi Widelats
Thanks for your post.
Just to confirm there are no hidden charges for installation,it's absolutely free. But to get o2 home broadband you require a BT landline ,you can also have our Home phone services if you've an active BT and pay your telephone and broadband line rental to O2.
If you need more explanation let me know,I'll be more than happy to assist you.Alternatively you can also call our customer services @ 0800 230 0202 (landline) or 800 230 0202(o2 mobile).

Have you actually established that you can get 02 LLU service on your exchange though? If not, don't bother with O2 Access, which is dire.
What exchange are you on? Or do a postcode search on https://www.samknows.com and it will show your LLU options. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Four or more 'principal' operators provide broadband services at this exchange. Service in this area has been deregulated!Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

Eh? Not sure what you mean by this, didn't you just do a postcode search? The fact that the adjoining area has O2 LLU doesn't mean that yours does! What is the name of your exchange?
However based on the data above, your exchange is enabled for LLU.No free lunch, and no free laptop

OP you might like to ask/raise with the official o2 Representative to explain why they don't/can't/won't provide a BT line as their price list DOES include the idea of charging for a new (BT) phone line.
"o2 Home Phone is an optional bolt/on to (any) o2 Home Broadband and that has a price list which shows "putting in a new phone line" (page 40 of their o2 Home Phone Price List) at £85. "
I appreciate, as I 100% advised you, the o2 ONLINE system starts from checking if you can get o2 Home Broadband (ie on an existing BT landline) and then goes on to offer the optional bolt-on of o2 Home Phone, but we haven't had an explanation from o2 of what "puttin in a new phone line £85" means if they refuse to do it even if phoned up and asked to do it!
(Although as I rest my original case, you're probably better off anyway getting the BT c£30 phoneline, for an 18m commitment to one of their phone packages, and blagging (hopefully still current) £50-70-90 and 3m free for signing up online to JUST o2 Home BB, but it would all depend on your call patterns, all subject as macman has raised to being as sure as you can be in advance that there is the opportunity to signup to an o2 LLU Std/Prem/Pro package as appropriate - eg ask or Google a neighbour's phonenumber and check that it gets offered an o2 Std/Prem/Pro package on their website, remembering to clear cookies before you end up signing up via a £back site potentially in due course.)

OK i will sort them all out, what i meant by neighbouring villages get it is like this
Village 1. LLU activated. Village 2. My village Village 3. further away from my village but still on the same exchange as village 1 and is LLU activated, so i assumed mine is too. I did a village check and it said no results.
If i switch my current line to BT which is free, i will get a BT homehub and 3 months internet free, but i do not want the telephone package i just want the broadband, i will make sure it is not BT access though, i will have to speak to the adviser and see what they say and explain what i want.
Cheers everyone.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
The neighbouring vilage is irrelevant, unless it is on the same exchange. If your exchange is LLU then you can get LLU. Without a number, do a postcode check, this the next most accurate method. Or post your exchange name and someone can check for you.
You can't take BT line rental without the basic call package, it's inclusive.
If BT Access, you mean O2 Access, you will only be offered that if your exchange is not LLU'd for 02. Which you can easily check online as already outlined. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks i will get the line onto BT and give o2 a call for the servive.
Hi Widelats,
Did you call O2? They'll be able to definitively tell you if your area is covered by our LLU service or not.
