It is a huge relief and a very great feeling. I only have OH and Lloyds loan to clear now. OH wont let me pay her off any quicker than the £200 a month I'm already paying otherwise I'd clear that next. It's at 0% so she said it's more important to do the loan, which is true, but I hate owing people money! I can cope with the banks because if anything happened to me, going bankrupt is a last resort, but owing people money is a different matter.
Anyway, my next aim is OH, but that's already got an end date. I guess I should set quarterly goals really to help me get to Dec11. I'll have a think of some moreAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

I've just set myself some goals by breaking things down to what I need to pay daily to achieve them and it looked a lot less scary that way so could be a good thing to do!
Know what you mean with owing people money but she is also right and you need to start hitting the debts with interest where it hurtsDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I hate owing people money, my mum cleared my Virgin card for me so I owe her now, she wants to be paid last, but everytime you book a weekend away etc I feel guilty and like I need to justify it to her, not that she makes me feel like that.LBM Aug 09: £18,650.47 - Current: £12,854.93 (£5946.79)

I owe my Mum and Dad money too.
My Mum paid off a credit card for me so I paid no interest and my Dad did a transfer for me to one of his so I paid less interest.
I pay my Mum back £50 and my Dad £100 so I can focus on paying my other debts.
It made me feel less guilty that I agreed with both of them that if they ever needed the money back faster I would change my priorities paying and pay them back as much as possible every month till I didn't owe them anymore.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I know what you mean about feeling guilty! When ever I want to spend my money on something I'm always thinking in the back of my head what I owe her, and what I owe to my debt in general! So much so that in NY on my last day I still had about $200 change in my pocket so we decided to go shopping, however, I couldn't bring myself to actually spend it. It's currently at home on my desk and I'm deciding if to keep it for my next America trip, or put it in my bank and pay off debtsAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Get it in the bank lad
. Your pics on FB are great, Hawaii isn't somewhere I would have really thought of before but I quite fancy it now!
Fortunately I don't owe my mum anything, she is on a DMP too so is in no better position than me, that said, I have borrowed the odd £100 from her in the past but it was always short term and always paid back when I said it would be. My OH has never 'loaned' me money as such, he tends to just plonk money on the dining table and tell me to take it, I have put money in his bank once because I felt bad but he gets so stroppy with me for doing it! I have just decided that I will take him to NY when my debt is paid off as it's somewhere he would love to go

In the bank it goes then!
And Hawaii was never a place I saw myself going, but I did love it, not as much as NY though

I accidently bought two idential tickets for the lottery last night and I got an email this morning that I'd won!! I checked and unfortunately it was only £10, however, because I'd managed to buy two, it's actually £20Adam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...

Now that is a nice hand of fate!!
I would like to take OH to NY, just seems so expensive now, my mum went a few years back and I think she paid about £450 for 3 nights and flight, whenever I have looked recently it's like £700+.
Who did you book your trip through if you don't mind me asking?
