Thanks Beccie - I've never been before so I'm very excited!! I've been busting my !!! recently with my new job and everything that I felt I deserved a little break. And having knocked off just under £2.5k from the debt since LBM in May I figured I deserved a little break. We've done it cheap too.

Anyway, tell me more about this competition on here you entered?

I'm excited for you - there is so much to do there, it never gets boring!

It was from the competitions board on this forum, think it was a competition from the Telegraph.

Business class flights, a week in a 5 star hotel overlooking Central Park and a limo to take us shopping. It was absolutely amazing and something we could never have afforded otherwise.

A few years ago I got really into the competition thing and entered loads from here as they are all free to enter. I did really well, I won the trip to NY, a retro digital radio, an expensive skin care pack and numerous small prizes. I've kind of drifted away from it due to working so much, but do still do the odd one now and then. It's worth checking out - the amount that people win on there is quite amazing! :D

So my 1st August payments have gone through. This is how we're looking so far!

    My updated debt diary
    Last update: 02-August-2010

    Lloyds Loan - £18,309.81 @ 14.5% (down from: £18,831.22)
    [STRIKE]Capital One CC - £0 @ 30% (down from: £968.83)[/STRIKE]
    Egg Banking CC - £760.00 @ 21.90% (down from: £943.30)
    [STRIKE]Lloyds TBS overdraft - £0 @ 12.3% (down from: £2,000)[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Loan from OH No.1 - £0 @ 0%[/STRIKE]
    Loan from OH No.2 - £2,000 @ 0%

    Total Debt: £21,069.81

So, if I can make just one more payment of £70 I will be able to bring down my total to just under £21k. I would be well chuffed if I could do this! I think since May I've repaid almost £3k already, although interest means I've actually only cleared £2,273.54 from the balance :(

Still seeing this makes me more determined to clear more of this debt each month, bring down the monthly repayments, and get Debt free! Already paid back more than the £800 planned for each month again! :T

New York as well? I used to have brown eyes but I think they went green about 5 minutes ago :rotfl:. Had to give OH a talking to tonight about my travelling plans, he isn't into it that much but I just won't give him a choice :D

Big pat on the back for the progress on your debt, I bet sub £21k will feel great. Are you making the Egg card your next priority? I bet that one will be gone before you know it.

Ps Beccie that sounds like an awesome trip, I've only managed to win some foundation so far :o

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

Yeah well we're flying back to mainland USA anyway for a connection back to the UK, so figured we just as well go somewhere there that I've not been before and always wanted to go to New York so we are for a couple of days :D

Thanks for the pat on the back! The Egg card is next on the agenda! I was hoping to have had it cleared already, and I could have done it this month rather than go to Hawaii, but I'm feeling shattered from work as from January I've been in a new job and I'm out about 12 hours a day monday to Friday so I need something to help me recharge. But after the holiday it's all systems go on the dept repayment front.

Just back from Corfu was just what was needed after a very hectic start to the year. I'm sure I have the most recent lifting practice please add that to my CV, also being the only female in the house my case was the heaviest......

I will be taking a case which no doubt will have half of OH's stuff in it!

So, another day starts! It's only Wednesday, I so wish it to be the weekend again. I've not done any exercise this week so far, which is really bad! I'm playing badminton tonight though so at least I get a little in. I'm becoming more slack as the weeks go on. Must try push myself to do more!!
