just read whats been happening this morning gutted for you jj
hope the builder gets what he deserves in court but all to often they jump ship and reset up under a new name
glad to see so many well wishes on here offering support or advice very pleasing to see you should all give yourselfs a pat on the back

one thing i noticed nobody had mentioned but might me worth a phone call is do you have buildings insurance? and if so would nothing be covered?
jj im a beleiver in things happen for a reason you may not be able to think of one at the moment and think things cant gey much worse but maybe this has stopped you being somwhere or making a journey try to look at it positivley

Sorry for not posting recently, had some problems with my dongle and been so busy. Will post again soon after I have read all the posts. Things have moved on in good and bad ways but I will say more in my next post.

I will read your post with interest, but I can imagine a lot of people will be relieved to see you are back for now. We were worrying about you when we were at Mikes house too! Hoping you were going to post soon

Thank you for all the nice messages of support and help, firstly I have managed to stay in the same location as before, had a lot of talking to do but currently just about okay. Feel it's still on a knife edge but we are still here. I have been busy contacting tradesmen, specifically plumbers and electricians to try to move things on. I found an excellent plumber that was willing to help for a fraction of the normal price. He started two days ago and should have the first fix finished in about a week. Also not sure if I mentioned this but I got hold of some reclaimed roof tiles that are going up.

The previous builder is still hounding me but I will say more on that later. The completed independent survey came through regarding his work and it is conclusive, basically the house would have collapsed if he had continued. I may go to the police now that I have all this info. Longer term I will look at court action.

Will say more soon.

Glad to see you back posting JJ, and even happier to know that you still have a roof over your heads!

Things seem to be moving on for you which is great news.

Not sure the police will be interested unfortunately as I think it is a civil matter (though criminal in our minds that dodgy builders can leave a home in this state and rip people off).

People are still here willing to help, you just need to ask.
