Hi JJ
Hope things are not too bad for you and your family this week.
I am happy to give help if you need it, I am not highly skilled but can clean, fetch, carry, wield a paintbrush etc.
Just let us know when

See trading standards asap - by the sounds of it this builder might already be known to them.0

How are you JJ? Been following your thread and you haven't posted for a few days... hope this means you are okay. How is the tidying up going? And most important - any news on somewhere to stay?Miggy

Hi Jonny
How are you doing? Any progress?
Remember that the priority thing is to get alternative housing. If the council isn't helpful, local paper or MP or CAB - even local churches - should stir things up. Then when that's sorted you can start the CCJ procedure. He will never pay up unless you have gone to the limit legally.
Don't push yourself so far that you can't work, because you'll need your job for sanity and money.
I don't know if it's appropriate, but is it worth asking your employer for suggestions? Maybe they could provide a cheap loan or they own properties for key workers? Although you own the property, it's uninhabitable and you are therefore a priority. South Today? Meridian Tonight? You have to ask for and accept help before anything else can happen.
Let us know how you're getting on. I don't think you'll manager this alone and there are people here who know people and who would like to help in some way.
My experience is that if you are clear what you need, it will somehow materialise. It's not your problem how that happens and it will be in ways you will never be able to imagine.
Human nature being what it is, you should try and reply quite frequently here so that people know you're either all right, or needing something. If you go off radar, there's nothing really anyone can do.

Bump!
Hi JJ,
Still thinking of you all as are many others from Mike's thread. We all hope you and your family are well but are worried for you. Would love to hear an update from you. Been a while since you've been on line but I'm aware of no electricity at your home which could be the reason why?
Still looking for a solution. Still would like to help in any way possible if you still need help. The hardest thing on Mike's thread was getting him to accept help, I hope it isn't the same reason that prevents you from logging on.
Hugs to you all.
Take care honey!

Last post 7.6.10 Last On-line 10.6.10
Post on 7.6.10 was about vacating within 3 weeks, could be the reason he hasn't posted, may not even be aware of all posts made from 10.6.10?
3 week deadline to move is almost up & I'd imagine he has his hands full but will continue to bump his thread as often as possible, hopefully he'll be back soon and will at least know we're here for him & his family!
JJ
You made a post on page 2 about feeling more positive after being on site and helping, still volunteering and many hands make light work! Can bring my own tools and will scrounge as many materials as possible.
Feeling a little silly for firing so many things at you to try, it's not as though you don't have enough to juggle and only so many hours in the day. Refer back to them when needed but accomodation is obviously the main priority. Research on the builder can wait, all takes time anyway. Hope I never made you feel you weren't doing enough or dealing with things in the wrong way.TBH, I think you have been amazing for trying to cope with so much on your own. A huge amount of pressure and stress for you or anyone to manage for any length of time. :A
Honey you've done nothing wrong. You're carrying a huge burden because of someone else's greed. Please accept a helping hand where possible and let us lighten your load in some way, you don't need to go it alone, we're here to help because we want to help!
Hope to hear from you soon.
Take care & hugs to you all
