I got contacted by someone that knows a couple of jobs the builder did, one in particular is far from happy with him, so I will be contacting him soon to find out more. Trading Standards have already told me that if anyone else complains then they will investigate further.0

Good old Miggy...
I also wondered if Building Control would tip you the name of a few other people affected by him?
It really is total madness that someone can avoid being pursued by the police. As I said elsewhere, we're going to have to get used to protecting ourselves in the future, not relying on courts or lawyers or whatever...0 -

Oh good idea, I will ask. I don't expect them to say too much but I can try. Think I now know 5 other places that he has worked, 2 I think are unhappy with some of the work he carried out and I'm not sure about the others. One I know is reluctant to complain and the other I haven't contacted yet.
I've long given up on expecting the police to help me, all this has opened my eyes to a lot of things.0 -

Who can advise TS of problems, and what do those problems actually need to be?
How many people need to write/email to TS for them to trigger review?0 -

Are you keeping a record of anything that comes into this category (dates etc)? You never know, it might help your case some way, and also you might need 'ammunition' if your wife or kids feel threatened.
It sounds as though you are finding a way forward, despite all the difficulties. Good luck with getting more evidence for TS.Miggy

This article is about coffeehouse bartenders. For lawyers, see Barrister. (Wikipedia)0 -
When 109 people emailed the BBC in support of my request, things happened pretty fast. You might want to consider a similar approach. To whom, I'm not sure. Best used as part of a strategy rather than wasted...0

I wonder if the builder's intimidating tactics have been more successful with others than with you?

I keep a record of everything and also have a scanned record of everything. Think we all feel threatened but I will not be intimidated and I won't rest until he suffers in some way, even a small way.
Oh the other thing is I contacted some suppliers of his today and asked them if all the items that he was claiming were delivered to our house were actually deliver to us, surprise, surprise they weren't. He had made up some invoices and had other items delivered to different addresses. I spoke to TS about this and they still don't think it is grounds for them to definitely take action but the police may. I need to contact them again. However they have now taken all my paperwork away (over 100 pages) and will spend some time looking at all of it and will let me know.0 -
what a weasel, to put it lightly.i hope and pray that he is brought to justice for you0

Could be theft, or fraud... and might prove to be his undoing. Good move!0 -

Heya, another member ofr Mike's Mob checking in. Been a bit distracted by a lot of things of late, but managed to find some time to swing by here today at last.
So glad progess has been made, JJ, at least with the house. The legal stuff sounds right frustrating, but keep digging. Any chance you can get details of these bogus orders he had made up and shipped elsewhere? And new vans is just cheeky!
*hugs*
