Currently we have the plasterers in and they are making a right mess, probably just over halfway now. The electricians have finished the first fix and the plumber has started. I'm doing the guttering and making the kitchen units at the weekend and the roof is almost complete. Oh and I also have to paint the kitchen by Saturday, not sure when I can fit that in. We can't finish any of upstairs so that will have to be boarded off along with some of the ground floor. Hope to move into the property in a couple of weeks. :j :j :j
Wow JJ, you really do seem to be making some great progress :T
I hope that RAS's info turns out useful too
Keep on going, there is a chink of light at the end of the tunnel

Hi JJ the builder i suspect has asked companies house for a proposed strike off he cant do that by law if he has court papers against him and it takes about 2-3 months from date of advert in london gazette to be struck off.
Also he cant sell the company assets before hand (however he may claim he sold them to keep the company going a bit longer)0 -

jj send the letter of to your MP and follow it up with a phone call
Also i posted on here if you or any other mse posters had brought this to Martins attention would be suprised if he didnt look into this or offer you some advice he seems a very fair guy and would not approve of this builder actions at all
PLEASE CONTACT HIM WORTH A CALL0 -
xyellowx martin was contacted in relation to a similar case and he responded but didnt help very much. It was suggested that he cant be seen to be helping one poster more than any other one (if i remember correctly), as well as only have jonnyjets side of the truth. Don't get me wrong, it would be ace if Martin could help, and I'm not saying JJ is lying... but it's very very unlikely. I'm sure Southernbelle can remember the number of the posts on the other threads re martin and his help.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

Yes that is exactly what he has done and I look at the LG daily. As far as I am aware he has no CCJ's against him and I see no point in persuing his company if he has no value in it, which is what my solicitor is saying. I also know that he has sold all of his most valuable company assets. Basically if it went to court I would most likely win and he would have no company assets to pay me with. I have not started court action but have let him know that is the course of action that I am taking, as advised by my solicitor. Currently I see no way of taking this action any further without spending money that I will not get back.0 -

I know you only have my side of the story and of course I am the only one that knows how honest I am, I hope that when the show gets aired you will see for yourself what a desperate situation he has left us in. Things are gradually improving but that's only because he didn't manage to take every penny that we had, although he did ask my wife how much saving we have, or should I say had.0 -
Hi JJ
sorry didnt know Martin had been informed
would still get local MP or counsilor involved they normally pop out the woodwork for a pic in the local paper
also if the builder plans to strike off the company i would phone the VAT and PAYE and tell them (think they have a tipping off line) inform them as to his plans bet he hasnt got his payments up to date and they can and will investigate him (wont help you but im sure will open a can of worms for the builder)0 -
JJ I am not doubting you in the slightest, I was just pointing out why Martin probably won't be able to help even if you do contact him. We were really worried about you when we were in Littlehampton as you had gone quiet and I'm just as relieved as anyone else that you are slowly getting sorted. Hopefully something will come up that means you can get him where it hurts.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

I know psychopathbabble, I always try to give you as much detail about what is going on so that you are able to comment on my situation. I really wish I was able to say even more than I do but at this stage I don't want to be identified. My comments are never meant to offend, but I know it is not always easy to judge the tone of the written word.
I'm still using a dongle for the internet and some days it just doesn't seem to work properly.
BTW a builder stepped on my fire surround and broke it in half today, no one has owned up to it yet. I hope someone can repair it.
Am I cursed?0
