Contraceptive Pill advice

I was on Microgynon for 8 months and if was fantastic in terms of: Next to no period pain, no pmt, no sore boobs, no man with a tin helmet on because of my mood swings.

I went back to the Drs about 6 weeks ago because it worked soooo welll ... I had no sex drive whatsoever! So bad I would rather clean the toilet! ...

Have been on Yasmin for 2 weeks so coming up to my weeks break shortly.
1st week on it I had my sex drive for every day - back to no sex drive for the past 2 weeks or so and the added addition of sore boobs. Not very badly though. So I'll give it the full 3 months and see if it settles and my sex drive returns. If it does I can live with the sore boobs.

im on microgynon30 - have been on it for about 13 years. never had any problems to start with but have found over the last couple of years my weight has been slowly creeping up (though that could also be to do with drinking lots of wine with the girlies at the weekend!!).

apart from that I have had no problems! last year I was going to try the implant as I heard how good it was but then changed my mind at the last minute as I thought that at least when I have my TOTM with the pill I know Im not preggers!!!

The best thing to do is ask which GP at your surgery deals with family planning and book an appointment with them to dicuss your needs.
I'm on the Implanon, its been the best thing for me. No worries about missing pills, no mood swings.

I was on microgynon a few years back, it sent me barking mad!

Came off it and was like a changed woman.

Last year after I had the baby, I went on cerezette, but it gave me mood swings, so I came off that.

I'm on Micronor now ~ which work well for me, but there is only a 3 hour window to take them (I was on them when I got caught with the baby, but I never forget to take one now!)

I am seriously thinking about the implant though.

I can't remember the name of the one I was on (came off it 5 yrs ago.) It wasn't til I came off it that I realised it had negatively affected my sex drive. When I told my GP - she said this is one of the least ever discussed side affect of the pill.

Yea my gp a man was on holiday so I saw a lady dr. And when I told her she said oh we know this can happen with microgynon - infact she said, it happened to me. And I looked at her and said really! In a sqeaky voice and looked at her like she had 4 heads. I really thought I was the mad one and had cried many tears over it ...

i am on microgynon. not had any prob's. i only changed it becuase i was on a previous one which was a very low dose and i didn't have a peroid of 3 months then i bleed very heavy ( won't go into details ) and found out i'd miscarried. i don't mind having another baby, but i didn't want to risk every month thinking was i or wasn't i. so asked for something bit stronger so when we do decide the time is right for another child i can come off it.
