I think that I would try reselling it on - you never know you might sell it at a profit - or it may be a loss - either way you will have learnt from a bad ebay experience!
Have they already left feedback for you? I think that I would be tempted not to leave any feedback at all - after all it is optional. If they havent already left feedback and you leave a negative or neutral then they will no doubt leave you negative in retaliation!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

I recieved the wrong colour ipod speakers, seller eventually agreed to a refund so I sent it back second class (not recorded as I wanted to keep the cost down as he was meant to refund the postage) He says he hasn't recieved them back. I paid with paypal but because I didn't use recorded delivery, I only have a proof I postage I don't know where I stand.
I wish you luck in getting your money back, I am kicking myself now for not using recorded delivery, but as you are experiancing, its not always garranteed either.

I realise you would have wanted to keep the cost down but in the event of something like this happening where the seller says he/she hasnt received the goods back then you have proof of delivery. If you do a paypal dispute then I would have thought that they will side with the seller as you wont be able to prove that the item got there - the seller may have realised this when it arrived with him not recorded!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

Sarah, you can still put in a lost claim to Royal Mail, although I think this will only compensate you up to £23 as you sent second class.choccyface2006 wrote:I wish you luck in getting your money back, I am kicking myself now for not using recorded delivery, but as you are experiancing, its not always garranteed either.
I felt that about recorded delivery initially, but I'm wondering now whether Royal Mail has been in touch with the seller, prompting this latest move.

I am pretty sure that Royal Mail do get in touch with the destination of the parcel to see whats happened - think that if they dont respond then the claim is closed against (not definate on this) the person claiming!
It does sound like Royal Mail has prompted this latest move - the seller obviously realised that you were claiming and that he was getting backed into a corner and couldnt keep up the pretence!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

No feedback been left yet. The leaving of feedback seems to be a topic of contention here in the forums! What is worse, getting a negative or letting others know of your experience? I agree, me getting one negative on my 222feedback is going to look worse than (another) one on their 6955!
I just feel cross at what I see as poor customer service.

That seems unfair! You would think that a non-response would suggest some fault on the part of the addressee and RM should take some sort of action against them (in a perfect world anyway!) as there may be a possible fraud.

Hi,
Found the thread that I read it on: ( I may have misinterpreted it or be having a blond day but here it is!)

I was slightly different, as RM said that they did have a signature, which makes their case stronger against the addressee I suppose.
However, if they didn't have a signature and tried to tell me I wasn't entitled to compensation I would be fuming!

I feel the same, I would hate to blight my 100% feedback with a neg, it would look worse on my reletivly small amount of transactions whereas he has sold thousands of items so one neg won't look as bad. But I think this is envitable if I leave neg feedback. With this in mind I said to the seller that I would still leave positive feedback when I recieved my refund before I sent the item back.
Sadly I paid more than double the maximum amount I could get in a claim from Royal Mail, thanks for the information though, I did think I would get nothing.
