I'd love it, really I would. I've always wanted 3 children but finances hold us back. We agreed that once November 2011 comes round we can reassess and maybe try for another then - all the debt would be gone so we could afford for me to go part time at work.

But... I'm also dreading the thought if I am pregnant. I dont think I am - I'm just panicking.

    And breathe...! :D

LOL, it nevers pans out the way you plan it...didn't for me, good luck whatever happens for you :rotfl::rotfl:

Come on, hurry up and test!

There is a risk of miscarriage if it is removed, but usually depending on the position its in, 'they' say it is better to remove it (and run the risk of early miscarage) than leave it and run the risk of second trimester (or later) miscarriage. Or that's how my GP explained it to me, if the coil was there when I went for my first scan it was to be removed (if possible) that day.

Either way, if you are pregnant, the sooner you know and get medical advice the better.

I fell pregnant/miscarried a few times on the mirena.
The last time was awful got to 16 weeks and then miscarried.
Trust you do not want to go through that.
Get a test, and if your are get it removed.

I know the above is not what want to hear, but i thought it best to post, as i would hate for you to go through what i did.
My partner has now had the snip so hopefully if the tubes don't regrow we won't have to deal with the heart ache again.

    Right, no conclusion sorry!

I've bought two clearblue. First one has a very feint line, the second one doesnt. I know they say a lines a line, but having tried for my daughter for 3 years and done a million tests in that time, I dont trust such a feint line anymore.

I'll wait until Thursday and test again.

Thanks for sharing Kezlou - sorry you had to go through that. I myself miscarried once at 14 weeks and it was heartbreaking.

Thanks for everyones posts - I'll report back soon.

I know it's not very MSE but you can get clearblue digital ones that say PREGNANT or NOT PREGNANT - least you don't have to be worying about looking for lines.

I've got the mirena - my Doc told me it was the next best thing to sterilisation. Looking at the responses on here that's not necessarily the case

Oh no! I have the Mirena and I've put on quite a bit lately, been gagging when brushing my teeth and funny taste in my mouth. I did wonder because of the weight gain but now I think about it there are other things. I really, really hope it was just because I ate too much on holiday. I''ve never been 100% confident about the Mirena for contraception.

A friend of mine had an ectopic pregnancy on the coil, it had moved or embedded itself so wasn't protecting her like it should.
She ended up being rushed into hospital and having to have an operation which resulted in one of her tubes being removed.
If any of you are in doubt, go to your local sexual health clinic and get a free pregnancy test done!

My wife fell pregnant on the coil a about 2 weeks after it had been "checked". We went to the local hospital to be told she had miscarried as they couldn't find any detection of a baby and she was given a tablet for nature to take it's course and the coil was removed. She didn't take it and we went back for a check up a week later. Lo and behold they found a baby. God knows how many doctors etc followed and a grunt and a stern look from the original doctor (who I would gladly have belted if she were a man) and we were fine. She is 20 months old now.
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.
