I have just got my vodafone bill and it is over £50 more than I usually pay because they have changed their billing system
I phoned them to complain as my bill is normally £36 and now I have one for £91.98 they say it is because the billing cycle has changed but I think this is unfair and I really don't understand it,can anyone explain it or has anyone else had this problem?

Thank sLouie76

You have probably been moved from Calendar billing (1st of each month) to Anniversary billing (the day of the month that the contract started). If you were not previously, you will now probably be paying a months line rental in advance (hence the larger bill).

I really doubt it was done without them letting you know though either by text or a message printed on your previous bill?

I would like to say that my bill doubled from £169 (I have 6 phones on my account) to just over £300. I was not informed that they were changing their billing dates and only found out when I rang them in total shock! I was told by customer services that this was a problem for many customers and I would be able to pay in instalments, but had to ring a week after my bill should have been paid. I rang and was put through to a different department who told me that if i wanted to continue using my phone i would have to pay it in 2 halves. This does not help my situation as i have no spare money and still have the normal bill to pay the following month. I am disgusted with their service. I woke up this morning to find my account has been suspended - again no notice given. I can't even contact them on my phone my dialing 191. I will not be staying with vodafone once my contract is up.

You really need to watch out and act quickly. If they suspend your account you will end up with a large bill without the benefit of using your phone and (much worse) a black mark on your credit rating for years to come - plus the likelihood of the debt being passed to a debt collecting agency.

Vodafone is vying for first place as one of the worst organisations in this country (its main competitor is T-Mobile).

No matter what they have done to you (and I know it's a bitter pill) protect your credit rating at all costs.
  • I've just been on the Vodafone web site to check my online bill and it has been issued early and therefore the direct debit will be taken earlier even though i'm in the middle of a contract with them.

I've contact Vodafone and the reason they gave for the billing date changing was a technical error.

Has anyone else has this issue with Vodafone?

They have done this to me as well but you can ask them to put it back to what it was previously but can only do it for the following month
