Renault suck!

I work for Renault (used to be a Customer Relations Manager, but got sick of ppl hurling shouting and swearing).
Regarding the key card cost - all modern cars are hard to steal...partly due to technology such as antitheft rolling codes in keys...so its an important piece of kit, and yes it costs!
The new generation Laguna hasnt been the best car in the world, but believe me, Carlos Goshn (the new head honcho) has insisted that 2007 Laguna has to be in top 3 cars in its class for quality - and its a real looker too!
We expect cars to be ultra reliable, never break down etc etc, BUT we want em cheap (rip off britain etc (yawn)). Car companies are not exactly raking it in at the mo, redundancies etc -Ford and GM in massive debt. At the end of the day, cars are just mechanical / electrical things - and sometimes they go wrong.

Renault, Peugot and Citroen have long been the butt of jokes about reliability and being made out of thin metal etc. Then again Vauxhall and Ford aren't all that.Happy chappy0

No car is perfect, cos if there was one, we would all have it
Suppose it all depends on driving style, mileage etc, but Renault do seem to get a lot more stick than others. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
My 96 Espace is in the garage at the mo.Its an auto and got stuck in 3rd gear, garage phoned today £96 allready and recons it could be the gearbox ECU.They are trying a donner one to see if it is this,if so i'm feeling a LARGE bill coming. Hopefully it will be ok.

2.5 yrs old Megane VVT nightmare! Brakes have been modified twice, steering column to be modified, recall on brakes and windscreen wipers, faulty seatbelt......
The most annoying is that I have taken my car to the garage to get the brakes sorted ( screeching like a council bus ) and they kept tellinh me that the engineers cannot hear a fault.... 2 visits later they announced that the modified brakes have been modified again! So they knew about the problems yet did not do anything! The most annoying after been to the garage 6 times over 7 month they still do not get my surname right!0 -
If you want reliability buy Japanese: Honda, Toyota, Suzuki etc. Nissan have slipped out of "very reliable" (Which? magazine ratings) since being taken over by Renault.Nice to save.0

The Parkers(as in car price guide) forum is for all cars but has been almost hijacked by people with renault problems.
