Renaults are highly reliable cars
It's probably from a faulty batch - that would have been a 2nd gen Laguna right? They were awful. Several problems. Can't you get it changed or replaced with a stronger model? No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
OH has a 3 month old Ford Focus diesel - broken down twice now. Previous one never let us down in the 3 years we had it - I guess it's still a case of the odd rogue motor but it does make think that it's the luck of the draw.0

I have an older model megane (R-reg) and have had it for 3 years with no major problems, however, my husband drives all sorts of cars with his job and he says the new megane is a nightmare for faults to do with the electrics and wouldn't have one given!DMP starts June 2012, £38,180.

French electrics son, admittedly much better than they used to be, but for some reason the French overload their cars with too much equipment and fault after fault occurs. Remember the old Renault 25? On paper amazing car, fast, had every gimzo on it, was very innovative when built, but they fked the car by bolting every electrical goody to it - and they never worked.
Same as the new Pug 1007 with the leccy sliding doors, great idea in theory if that's what you want, but when the battery goes flat how are you gonna get in or out eh??£2 Coin Savings = £0.230 -
We have got one of the new shape Megane's and it has been really good (touch wood!). I had always read bad reports about french cars, but I think its mostly luck of the draw with them.
Its got few very minor rattles and squeaks, and the servicing is astronomically costly, but 805 miles to a tank of diesel makes up for these irritants!0 -

805 MILES TO A TANK?!??!!
That's amazing!! When I got my car I had it chipped and it ruined the MPG, I was getting 150 miles / tank on a car that cost £75 to fill up!!
805 miles to a tank...... yeeeeeeesh. Nice one!£2 Coin Savings = £0.230 -
There French what do you expectCharles J0
