Hi, i have taken the plunge and have a court date for 3rd June at 1000hrs. Bit nervous but more worried about the OR interview than anything else oh and if they recommend an IVA which i hope not as i have £50,000 in debts.

Hi greytdog and welcome to the June BR club, Dojoman will add your name to the list.

Do you mean IPA? As an IPA has nothing to do with how much debt you have, it’s only how much surplus you have left after your SOA’s expenses.

    Best wishes

Hi, I have booked my hearing to go BR on the 17th June. My partner had to go BR back in Feb so we will both be in the same boat! (We ran a property business together).

We have found that after renting out houses to other people for year's we now can't rent somewhere ourselves to live! We live in a rural area where agents cover most of the market and we have had nothing but probs renting with them and a couple of private rents haven't been up to scratch.

It's also been a pain trying to pay for things in cash everywhere, not happy carrying lots of cash to pay for higher value items like a £350 laptop the other day. It seems ridiculous that we can't have a debit card for 7 years! Also can't buy anything online cause of the same prob!

I have a mobile phone contract, would I be likely to loose this? (I have never missed a payment).

    Any advice would be great.

I went BR in November, have got a visa debit card with my Coop cashminder account and my Barclays basic account, have purchased numerous things over the net with no problems. I also have a Cashplus mastercard for any purchases that I cannot use my debit cards for. I also have a contract with o2 that I was allowed to keep, as it had no arrears on it, so as long as it is not for some stupid amount you should be ok with it. Also I would not broadcast what you are spending money on on here, as you are likely to attract the attention of trolls.

  • Finally got a date: 18th June. Quite frustrated though, as I've been trying to phone the court for ages now and never got through (I live quite a way away, so I couldn't just drop in). I wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it on the spot, and I'm ready to go now. Finally got through to them this morning and that's the next available appointment. But it's good to have a date, and at least I didn't make a wasted journey!

The stress of this whole thing got to me so much yesterday that I actually fainted! (What a drama queen!) Anyway, I decided (per my other thread) to write to my landlord's agent to ask if they'll evict me. Fingers crossed!

Wolfers, really sorry to hear you are having a bad time of it due to your BR, if the pressure is too much go and see your Dr, and they should be able to help you. You are not alone, just keep posting on here and someone will always be around to help/advise you. Hope you are feeling better, I know it is not easy but it does get better.
