Abbey don't transfer my ISA

My transfer from Santander to Nationwide took from 7th April (trans form completed) to receiving the certificate for my FRISA on the 22nd June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not happy and will be complaining to Nationwide and Santander. I could understand them not paying interest on funds until they are received if they had not waited three weeks before sending the transfer form off!0

Yes I complained about a 22 day delay sending the transfer form. The reply was that they don't start counting till the form gets from branch to processing centre, that took 16 days according to them. When I mentioned that there was nothing in the guidelines that allowed them to start counting the 30 day transfer at their discretion they started to offer back interest. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0 -
Received an apology letter today from N/W (Sallie in complaints. Sorry "customer care" Direct line 01604 856199) They are paying me 20 days interest at the correct rate. So I guess I'm satisfied with their response, can't really say I was stressed as I expected it to happen. Just waiting for a reply from Santander now. This is an open forum, anyone can post and I just did !0

I have today given up on Santander. I opened my ISA account on 14th April and completed the transfer request form a couple of days later. After several phone calls where Santander blamed my existing provider for not responding to their requests, it finally emerged after two months of waiting that Santander hadn't actually processed my transfer form. Their Central Complaint department (01908 680123 / 0845 6006014) gave me £30 and a bottle of whisky in compensation, and promised that the transfer would be completed in 5-10 working days.
Today - the 11th working day after I complained - I contacted my existing provider, only to be told that they had still not received a request from Santander. I have now had enough with Santander. I immediately called them and told them to close my account and stop processing the the transfer request (not that they ever started!). I wonder if they will be able to act on these instructions .... ?0 -
Daggers, this doesnt surprise me with that lot!!!!!!! They just are so inefficient, took me nearly three months to sort mine out to transfer from Santander ( B and
to Nationwide loss of two and a half months interest. Hey you did well getting through to complaint dept!!! How long did that take hanging onto the phone?

All I can say is that it was a long phone call while they tried to sort out the mess! Unfortunately the story doesn't end there ... Santander did manage to close my ISA account, but not cancel the transfer request, so my existing ISA account was also closed. My money is currently floating around somewhere between Santander & Halifax.0 -
Unbelievable (or perhaps not with Santander) the complaints just go on and on and on zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz totally useless0

roll on cheques being phased out, why in hell do banks still send cheques to each other anyway!
Do you think we might someday get instant trasfers with things like this? It's all numbers at the end of the day, anyone would think there were trucks full of money driving between branches, everyone's ISAs being counted in and out, maybe like the bank in Harry Potter??
Anyway, I have been waiting 2 months for my ISA to be moved from Natwest to Nationwide, they just keep telling me they are too busy to bother basically. Have assured me I will get backdated interest from when they received my cheque. Have told Nationwide I will be moving my ISA from them as soon as they "process" it, just on principle, although, from reading this, non of the others are doing a much better job.
I have complained to the Ombudsman and asked that I be compensated interest on £5,100 that I have been unable to put in my ISA as it does not exist yet.0 -
I will be interested to hear the outcome on that one moorsey, they are totally incompetent from what I have experienced.0
-
yeah, I will do, don't worry, good to share these experiences, get it all of my chest etc:D
Hoping I won't be waiting too much longer, but I said that a month ago0
