they are on lolly sticks - not the wooden ones, the white plastic tube ones (or if old school tightly rolled white paper ones)

how many cakes do you need them to hold? do you want flat pack cardboard ones, ones with inserts, display/retail ones, or just something to transport or store them safely in?

tbh, ebay is usually your best starting point, so you can work out what you want and then google away from there to find the best price

or for ease, all in one place https://www.cupcakeboxesuk.com (although ebay comes up cheaper on smaller quantities due to p&p)

Morrisons sell some really nice ones (well, the one near me does anyway!) I was really surprised, they had loads of different designs, and all came with a cardboard insert to stop the buns moving around and a clear pannel on the lid, so you can see whats inside.

Sainsburys also sell them (but there was more choice in Morrisons)

    that looks delicious!!

Does anyone know of a cake decorating course in the lancashire area - as near to Blackpool as possible and of course the cheapest option. There are courses at the local college but these are full time and cost a fortune, i need one either at nights or weekends preferably.

    Thanks
  • hi i was looking fo a bit of help if nayone can offer it.

my sister really wants one of those giant cupcakes for her birthday.

i bought one of the JML silcone moulds and have tried various recipes but cannot get it to work at all.

i was just wondering if anyone had a fail proof recipe and timings that i could use.

is the silicone mould would i be better buying the tim from Lakeland or is it just my baking. lol

any hints and tips would be greatly appreciated.

what exactly is going wrong, using the mould you have?

    burnt outside, undercooked inside?

    mould not holding shape?

cant see that it would be worth the extra expenditure on the lakeland one

    Hi,

Is the cake sticking to the mould? is that the problem? If so, you need to grease the inside of the mould with either butter or marg, then dust the inside with flour. This should definately stop the mixture from sticking. After you have finished baking the cake, I would only leave the cake for a minute of so, and then remove it from the mould, it should come away easily.

This is the recipe I always use for my Cakes

If you don't want it to be a Chocolate Cake, then all you do is leave out the cocoa powder and add an extra 1oz of flour (and if you don't have any evaporated milk, just use normal milk)

I have one of those giant cupcake moulds and have never had a problem with it.

    hope this helps
