Hi Mel,
This is the best chocolate cake I have ever tasted! It is so delicious and really really really moist!
Hi Becs
Do you know if this would this recipe work with normal caster sugar or just golden caster sugar?
I have an order for a giant chocolate cupcake and I was thinking of using this recipe instead my normal chocolate sponge recipe0 -

I am eating a vanilla cupcake with this icing and it is yummy!!
i had originally tried the hummingbird recipe for cream cheese icing but that was not really that nice so I amended it to follow your recipe and yours is SO much nicer
pleased to hear you like it!It's really easy to make too isn't it?
In fact I have forgotten just how nice it is, so might have to make some more soon.........:p

Hi Stokegal,
I would imagine it would be fine with normal caster sugar, I always use golden caster sugar in all recipes instead of normal. I've not had any problems so imagine would be ok the other way round too.0 -
Hi, I'm new!
I was wondering if anyone could help me, I have a friends birthday coming up and she wants a chocolate cake, does fondant icing go ok with chocolate cake? because I wanted to decorate the top, or would it taste better if I just use chocolate icing?
Thankyou!0 -

Hi
I personallly would use chocolate fondant made with butter, cocoa, icing sugar and milk. Depends what you want to do on the top and if you need a solid icing maybe try melted chocolate. Yummy:p0 -
evansangel the cakes look lovely how did you get the marble affect and how are you feeling with bump
I seperated the cake mix and mixed cocoa powder into one bowl, then i just blobbed random spoonfuls of each into the cases and baked
