Busy making cupcakes for my daughter that are going to be served tomorrow between 5 - 8 pm...am I okay piping the buttercream topping on tonight or should I leave them until tomorrow ? I am trying my very first recipe out of the hummingbird book "caramel cupcakes" .....the amounts for the frosting seem generous but I better stick with what they say...also thought about drizzling Nestles Carnation Caramel over the piped buttercream tonight ? tomorrow ?0

Hi Minxz
Are you using mormal liquid food colouring that you but fRom a supermarket? I would try a coluring paste you only need a tiny bit and it gives a really strong colour or you could try using Trex insted of butter this wil give a white buttecream for you so would probably be a good base.

Hi ladies. I love your cakes - you are all so talented and generous with sharing your pics. :-) I will have to put some of mine on photobucket so I can share them here.
A quick question. I tried my local cake decorating shop today for a Wilton 2D nozzle to pipe buttercream roses on cupcakes for my sister's birthday at the weekend. Sadly they were out of them so I bought a 2C which looked similar. Has anyone used this and does it give a similar effect?0 -
Hi,
A few pages back I have put a picture of a Mario/Luigi Cake I made, it has 'shooting stars' sticking out of the top of it which someone gave me from a Tesco Birthday Cake. I was wondering if anyone knew where I can buy these plain sticks from? what are they called? I have spent the last 30 mins or so on google trying to find them!
Thanks
