Help please! I want to decorate some cupcakes for my DD, but she doesn't like buttercream. Any ideas as to what else I could decorate them with. She's 16 so I wanted to do them 'grown up'.
    Thank you!!!!

How about a cream cheese icing?
This is one that I use and it tastes delicious :p

    Cream Cheese, 250grams (9oz)
    Butter, 150grams (5oz)
    Icing Sugar, 400grams, (14oz)
    Vanilla Essence, half a teaspoon

Add all ingredients into a food processor and mix at full speed for 30 seconds. If you don't have a food processor (like me) then put all ingredients in a bowl, cover slightly with a tea towel (so icing sugar doesn't go every where and mix with an electric hand mixer!

I have made this a few times now, and I use stork marg instead of butter which may make it go a bit runnier, so I just keep adding icing sugar untill I get a nice thick consistency..

It pipes really easily onto buns and imo tastes much nicer than buttercream
:p Busy working Mum of 3

They are brilliant well done! How do the roses stand up? Did you use the Wilton 2D tip? Thanks

OMG i love the cupcake bouquet! Well done! :T Can i ask what piping tip did you use to create the effect of the roses? Also was it the florist polystryrene you use to insert the sticks? Was it tooth picks you used to hold the cupcakes? If so, how did you find it holding the cupcakes? Was it strong enough? Sorry for all the questions! I am seriously thinking of making one for myself for my birthday... is that sad? lol! DS and I share the same birthday and he is having a MrTumble party on that day so i might aswell do something for moi! :D

Thank you for the comments! The roses were made with a 1M tip. I used oasis covered in clingfilm then foil to stand them in, I couldn't get any polystyrene. I used 2 cocktail sticks in the larger cupcakes and one in the mini ones. It has held perfectly, I made it on Saturday and it is still on my table without the cupcakes slipping. It has been moved from room to room but not transported. I love it and can't bring myself to dismantle it yet :D.

I saw it made when I was flicking round You Tube so went in the kitchen to see if I could re-create it - as you do lol. I'll see if I can find it & post a link later.

I used the video to get the basics then adapted it for my own one.
