Oh, talking of rain - Crafty, did you have a good holiday in Northern Ireland?
    Really good thanks.
Weather better than we expected - sun and cloud, couple of days of mist and we got the warm spell at the end :D
Lovely hotel, good company, good food and really informative!
We were staying in Newcastle and went to Belfast, Derry/Londonderry, The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and even briefly into the Republic.

Now trying to get back into normal routine.
Monday unpacked and did washing - Tues got food (then got a headache - not something I normally get so no idea what triggered it)
Today waiting for a call to confirm return of PC so slightly stuck by the phone - Oh, just remembered, I got a charity bag through the door :T off to fill it.

Oh aren't they just precious Valli!! lol..

OH's car insurance sorted.. see how efficient I am he didn't even need his mum to nag him to death about it.. I just went and quidco'd away my evening lol.. worked out very slightly more than last years but all is good :D

KH brought the bag round so I can fill it with pretties for his brothers wedding next weekend.. Tiddles will be over the moon to be wearing her pretty party dress.. Goodness knows what the other 6 will be wearing!

In addition to funding the other half of DD2's trip, DS2's extortionate uniform and buying shoes for these centipedes.. I now have been informed on nd July it is DD1's prom which she wasn't going to blahblahblah.. and can she have a dress, hair done, new shoes and £40 ticket price.... oh I will just poop out a few more £10 notes dear.. yes of course!!

I think KH may need to get his hand in his wallet and start contributing because this year is going to financially cripple me.. we haven't even got everything for the baby yet and I have barely started on christmas!!!!.. I'm usually half done by now!

In York a lot of Prom dresses seem to be half price or less - the season is over here!

£40 a ticket? where are they holding it - the Ritz?

    DD2's prom costs - ticket £10
    1/8 share in Limo - £20
    shoes - New Look - £15
shrug and bag - New Look - £20
    dress - Debenhams - £100

hair/nails/spraytan/makeup - none - I'm not stupid (spray tan girls all looked orange.)

Two years ago Ds prom cost - £8 ticket and £40 suit hire

Three years ago DD1's prom - £8 ticket and bangle cost - £2. Dress/gloves/bag/shoes/gloves - either had or borrowed from mate at work with daughter the same size!

Over the cost of 3 I got off very lightly I think!

    What size is she Piggers?

Another rubbish week here, there's a big dark dog who appears to have moved in, in place of my DH. DH is away training til Fri, then away again next week. I can count on one hand the amount of nights we've spent apart in 19 yrs, so I'm really not used to this. I hate it.
And I've been trying to avoid the last Lost spoilers, as I've not watched it yet (watching it at wkend with DH). Some big gob has just posted what happened all over their FB status...... grrrrrr  Sorry for moaning, I'm really bad company at the moment :(
Havent caught up on fred yet, will try to later. Huge ((((((huggles)))))) all around xxx
    I need direction to perfection...

  • I'm a hero this morning, apparently. DD walked out front door to go to school. 8 seconds later she is back in the door, going 'Mummmeeeeee [that always means trouble - she's more of an Oi, You! kind of girl - her father's fault, that one] There's a giant wasp out here!'

So I stumble out - half asleep and finding hard to focus, as my sleep pattern is all out of kilter at the moment - and locate the offending creature by the zeppelin-like rumble coming from a corner of the stairwell.

    Yup. Very big. Yellow. Stripey.

But instead of splatting the megawasp, I used my copy of New Scientist - and held it in front of DD's face as she walked past, telling her that if the wasp flew near her, it would think it was about to hit a wall and fly away again. She called me a hero, ran off to school and left me in my PJs with a giant wasp, armed only with an article on Milankovitch Cycles.

    So I used it.

To gently waft the wasp out of the window.

Then went back to bed with a cup of tea.

Cleaning can wait until 11. Because being a hero can be hard work.

    :D

It is at the football stadium... and it wouldn't surprise me if the school were making a sizeable profit!

She is an 8-10.. and short lol

She doesn't want to borrow my sisters. she wants a 'lampshade' dress lol Think she is after hiding loo rolls up her dress. Nails will be easy done.. and she wants to do her own makeup.. so jst her hair which I can get done cheap anyway.

DS1 cost me £20 ticket for him and his gf, I doubt DS2 will go tbh.
