Can I later get PPI on this pls?

I have some debt with Egg (of course pre-2005 agreement)

It is now being managed by a debt collection agency( Bryne Carter solicitors)

Its currently in court but we've agreed to settle out of court. I was to pay a lump sum of half the principal sum. I am ok with that.

Egg at that time produced online statement and i was not aware of a PPI added to my account for 5 years. i set up a Direct debit through which the minimum payment were paid monthly.

After sorting the current payment out with Bryne carter, can i still brought up a PPI against Egg?

Cheers

    Hi there.

    First of all well done on the settlement.:beer:

    Now in regards of the PPI, you are if you were mis sold this product in your right to make a reclaim on the PPI.

    So give it a go, follow the procedures on the link below with the questionnaire to send (recently issued by the FOS) to send to them instead of a template letter, good luck with this.;)

    @Di3004

    Thanks for the other time.

    I have settled the agreed amount and now i want to claim the insurance. It was egg.
    I looked at that questionnaire. (1) Is it better to send that to the credit company or FOS.

    I wrote egg about it few months ago and they ask me to provide 10 pounds for the requested document but i have the statements now (2) what else can i do?
    Cheers

    Hi there

    Your welcome.;)

    The FOS have recently issued these questionnaires for customers to use to send to whom set up and mis sold you the policy, I would then after you complete the questionnaire, keep a copy in case the business does not uphold your complaint or give you a favourable response, in case you need to complain to the FOS later on.
    They have 8 weeks in full to respond.

    That is the right amount £10 postal order or cheque payment for a SAR request, this is where they send all they hold on you, not just statements, but ppi policy details as well, etc, where they have 40 calendar days to comply.
    SAR template here (if you want to request one that is):

    Hope this helps.;)

    Make sure you have the settlement in writing, they are well known for playing very dirty.
    Have you read this thread?, would explain why they are offering you such a low settlement.

    The statement from Bryne Carter says "we would accept full and final settlement of 700 pounds" if received within 28 days"

    I have paid the amount and want to start my PPI now. Cheers

    @All

    I saw the letter Egg sent to me few months ago, it stated thus;

    " Thank you for your statement request. In order to process your request we need you to send a cheque for 10 pounds made payable to egg(sf). Once we received your payment we will proceed with the request"

    If what they were going to provide is JUST the statements, doe it worth it? I have 2 sets of statements with me with the agreements.

    What can i do?

    Hi there

    Its normally that of £10 cheque or postal order payment for a Subject Access Request (SAR) where they should send you more than just the statements, so in this case send the SAR letter (Template below) and enclose that payment where they have 40 calendar days to comply.
