Hi there and well done.
As amersall says.
If you still had any paperwork yourself, you could photocopy and send and request for any previous ppi, but some will only hold the info for those stated 6 years, but as said if you had the paperwork send it and ask if they would be able to consider that as well.
If they calculated inline with the FOS, then they would include the 8% interest of what a court would also award.
Where some on an offer (and not actually upholding/not taking any liability) they can discreetly award the interest if they wanted to, but I am sure the interest is always included if the account was upheld.
Hope this makes some sense.;)

Thanks so much. The statements was sent to me few months ago when i was negotiating settlement with Egg via Bryne carter.
The PPI itself is almost 1,000 let alone the 8% interest.
In calculating the interest, i just dont know the formular used. Someone said its not a normal 8% but a cumulative one.
i'll keep you posted.

I have checked the whole statements and discover that the intending premium egg wish to pay me was dated back to july 2004 not earlier.
I am thinking of writing them.

Hi everyone,
I wrote to egg but they claimed they have given me good gesture already.
I have accepted the money on paper. They have written me to confirm transfer of the money and included a letter saying if i am NOT happy i should contact financial ombudsman services.
I could have been 200 pounds more richer though.
Thanks folks0 -

Hi Kay
So are you going to accept or reject and complain to the FOS?
We are with you either way, but still have to say well done to you.:beer:XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi,
I have sent the letter to Egg and hey have now responded with offer of X amount LIMITING IT TO PAST 6 YEARS.
The total PPI charged should be more than the given one. How do they calculate the 8%? How?
Does the law says it cant go beyond last 6 years? I stopped using the card in 2006.
Cheers
Hi Kay
I understand the calculations of the interest are worked differently to that of loan ppi, hopefully someone will confirm this one for you, normally Robbedofmymoney works these out or Marshallka.;)
I am hopeless at working out calcs and usually ask for someone to check mine for me lol.
Have you also checked on Maxdp's thread on how the FOS calculates refunds, this shows both credit card and loan ppi.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1596473
From what I am aware of, some actually receive refunds going back as from say the start of the credit card or loan etc, my hubby received his ppi refund back this year from one he taken out in 2001, yet he did have the paperwork for this still, so if you still have the paperwork you can send them copies so they have something to go by.
This was Lloyds TSB though.
