Glad you like the dresses! I wore white first time round so I just wouldn't feel comfortable wearing it again and prom dresses are so much more MSE ya know! :rotfl:I will tell him you told him to get a move on Choc
Bless your OH Jules, how sweet! Mine has his good moments and last night was definately one of them.
Still no endowment money, will give it to the end of the week then call again BUT I did get a letter about arranging a dermatologist appointment so that's a start :T. Got to remember to transfer £15 to savings as that's the amount on the cancelled direct debit for the savings plan.
Is it really only Tuesday?

How lovely of your OH.
Think the dresses are lovely, think it's nice and different for them not to be white.
Good news on the letter for the appointment too!
Whereabouts do you want to get married?
Mine top choice would currently be Namibia - can't ever see me being able to afford that!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
I'd actually really like to get married abroad I think but OH's family wouldn't be able to afford to come and his mum hasn't travelled out of the country since she was 16! As he is the 'baby' I think she would be must put out if she couldn't be there to see it whereas my mum wouldn't mind what we did as long as we were happy
.
There are some lovely castles around where I live, including Leeds Castle:

And that would be amazing but I could never bring myself to pay what they charge!. Probably just be a little hotel somewhere local so people can come and not worry about taxis home etc.

Work internet doesn't like the link...what are the prices?!Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0

Yep it's massively expensive! The only way we could do it was to have just the ceremony and meal there for about 30 people max then a reception elsewhere but that would still cost a fortune!
Years ago I did some breakfast waitressing at a little hotel round the corner from my mums and they had a nice tudor style reception room and I know they are fairly reasonable so I think that would be a front runner IF we ever get hitched :rotfl:,
Heres a link for you:

As OH is the nervous type I thought we would do minimal numbers for the actual ceremony but after out talk at our friends wedding reception it seems he may have other ideas

The cheapest is £110 per person for just the ceremony and meal...no evening reception and max of 30 people but the others are upwards of £150 per person based on around 80 people

When we were choosing our wedding venue I fell in love with Sopwell House in St albans, but it was £150 per head just for the food, not including wine, flowers, etc etc. Father in law very kindly offered to pay, but I was so horrified by the price that we went with a lovely independant hotel in the next town instead. We had about 100 guests, and another 20 in the evening, and the whole thing came to about £6500. We were lucky enough that FIL paid for the reception, and I had some money from my aunts to pay for everything else. Having said that, we could have got by on a much smaller budget, 2 of my sisters have done their entire weddings for about £5000, just by using the church hall (nicer than it sounds!) and getting caterers in.
I'd love to get married again, I enjoyed organising the wedding so much :rotfl:Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Sounds like you got a good bargain there Jules
. I think weddings can cost as little or as much as you want them too, I know there are certain things I would want but I would also like to do a lot myself and I certainly would not be paying hundreds for a wedding cake or the like.
I don't think it's likely either of our families would be able to help money wise but I already have a list of useful people with useful talents in my head :rotfl:
