Well I've tried a few and St tropez everyday airbrush gives the nicest colour (definitely not orange!) and really doesn't go streaky. It builds up nicely over a few days then I stop when starts to go too dark. It smells nice (imo).
I also use the St tropez wash off instant tan. Nice colour, doesn't streak, I use it mainly on my legs when I suddenly decide to wear a skirt or dress.
Will certainly try the St moritz after your recommendations.
Do people really still sun bath? :shocked:0 -
A tan from the sun can be dangerous but a lot of people feel a tanned colour looks better (I am one of these people) these days we don't need to suffer the risks sun bathing brings also lots of people just simply don't have the time to lay about getting a tan:) I would recommend using professional products, the link below sell good quality and very good value products in all different strengths, as a guideline a 2% product is roughly the same as a gradual tanner and 6% is about the same as a product for fair/med skins, 10%-12% is the same as most dark spray tans.

The prices of St Tropez, Fake Bake and most Loreal products actually anger me as you can find much more effective products online for a fraction of the price but because they sell to trade they dont have thier name plastered everywhere, please dont waste your hard earned cash, remember :money::D.
There are other products for people with different requirements, in general professional products are much better than those you can buy on the high street and undoubtedly much better value, Famous Daves is supposed to be very good for fair skins and those wanting a lighter colour (I have to say I havent tried the products but have heard good things) and for those who want to go really dark there is my favourite Siennasol - hth:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

Hi all,
I'm whiter than white (read see-through!), and came across this thread. Thinking of trying the St Moritz mousse so will post back and let everyone know how I get on. Used so many over the years and had professionally done on occassion and still orange and streaky.
But ever hopeful, I'm back on the bandwagon!
Cheapsmells have a sale on - may be of use? Don't know if this is a good price?

Hey there fake tanners!
I am a fake tan virgin with pale skin (see avatar pic <
am same complexion as my baby who hadnt really seen the sun when that pic taken) oh and milk bottle white legs - they have never tanned despite many attempts including sunbeds and tanning oils. Now at 27 I have given up and want to try a cheap self tan..... my question is what do I do! Are there any magic rituals to perform? or is it really simple? Please could some one write out a guide, like SELF TANNING FOR DUMMIES step by step with as many helpful tips and hints

Hello there ticklepenny

That is a good idea especially from people who do it regulary and know the pitfalls....i play it by ear really and have given up with full fake tan as i have never been able to do it properly and then given up, so i stick to gradual tanners as i'm safer with those
But if anyone's got the time, please do x0 -

Hi Ticklepenny, I came across this thread earlier, I think that will answer you step by step questions (there's a link to another thread a few posts in that brill).
