tell her 'it is a copy because you have not sent me whats in the photo have you?
As per ebay rules you are not allowed to use 'stock photos' unless they are your own photos and judging by your feedback you have used the original sellers photo.
So either the dress you sent me is not the one in the photo or it is a copy of the photo. which is it?
Either you refund all of my money or i open a dispute.
maybe post this on the ebay board tooI am not bossy I just have better ideas:p0 -
shes refusing the refund, one of her comments is how do i know that it isnt a copy?
i need to find this dress online!
How does who know? Her or you?
Tell her you know that SHE bought it from a seller who makes copies and it's the same dress she has passed off to you.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
If you can post a piccy of it, we can go through all the differences which hopefully will win your claim.0

I know you know not all "made" dresses are naff because many certainly are not. But, many on e bay most certainly are. They go down the offshore route, it gets delivered and when it's not up to par they want to sell it on. My personal opinion of e bay is you can get a bargain especially from those genuine sellers who have original items. But, you do get those others who sell rubbish because they think they can get away with it. It's not on and if there is anything I can help you with Anderson, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Nooo I didn't mean it like that sorry Linda!
What I mean is, if I see a dress and I know it's a Maggie for instance, but they don't say it's a Maggie and the pics are crap or the dress is all creased, I'll ask if it's a designer dress or whether it was made.
If they say it's been made, then 9 times out of 10 it's going to be a copy from overseas.
If it's a dress that has been made by a proper dressmaker like yourself, then the sellers tend to mention that and also the fabric used etc...
Hope I didn't upset you with my comment, that was not my intention at all xxxTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Nooo, shell not at all. However, you have a valid point about made to measure gowns. These do tend to sit on the shelf if people want to sell as they are 'made to measure' Most ladies do like to go for a 'name' heck, I do myself unless I know the dressmaker/designer.
Made here, or made overseas, I do think people have reservations about buying this type of gown and everyone need be cautious.
Absolutely no offence taken in the absolute slightest ickle bit.
I was chattin with a young designer the other day and she is hoping to put together a collection of gowns to sell to the public. However, my feelings are that brides like to know their designer, like to know their gown which is why I haven't dipped my toe in the water just yet. I have some wonderful stuff on my rail but it's finding the outlet to sell it. E bay isn't the ideal/best place for 'made'

Well if she is getting married in the next week or so be sure to escalate the dispute while she is on honeymoon. If she does not reply to it paypal automatically refund.

As an original photo was used to sell it perhaps you should ring trading standards. I got in touch with them over a faulty bug zapper this week! They rang me back and then surprisingly came out to my home for it and gave me £2 for it the price paid. Not sure if this was because it was classed as a dangerous fault we nearly had a fire!. Damm thing was smoking and melting and would not switch off.0 -
didnt know that about her not be allowed to use that picture.
will try and put a pic up later when i can find my camera

Oh I'm glad I didn't cause offence ~ phew! :rotfl:
Have you ever had a stand at a wedding fayre to drum up some more business?
Or are there any local fabric shops near to you where you could give them your details to pass on to people who are looking for a dressmaker?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0
