I went to some public loos near the Tower of London last summer. They were incredible...the lady looking after them (ladies BTW) EVEN POLISHED THE COPPER WATER PIPES - she took a real pride in her work and I DID tell her how delightful they were...

dubai airport anyone? i had a 10hour layover in dubai airport and to my shock and horror found out that culturally, no tissue is used (for short or long calls), instead a pressure water hose is used to clean up  So any bathroom you'd walk into (despite having tissue provided) would have water all over the loo floor that was used to wash their private areas (front and back). Luckily i made good use of my 10hours and made sure to investigate almost every single loo location at the airport and was lucky enough to find one in a low traffic area of the airport and sort of deserted which is the one i ended up using which at least had dry floors *whew*.

anyway, going back to public loos here in the UK, i notice when it's loos at a workplace there are certain levels of respect and they'll always be clean....but when it's a store/leisure centre/library or other public place then the loos are always appalling!

I find service station toilets are actually quite good these days. Supermarket ones are a bit iffy round us.

Austria is the place for quality toilets. Even the smallest cafe has immaculate loos. It's a pleasure to poop.

    Dubai airport, I recall.

Water, water water.....very hygenic. My bottom was thoroughly rinsed. Quite a sensation really and refreshing and clean. Was a little dissapointed when I had to return to smearing a tissue once again :-(
